Now even if you say that it's not possible - I'll just try it anyway lol
But I'd like to know if any one on here has opted for sewing instead of glue?
I just don't trust glue - the hold, the chemicals... I just don't
If any of you have sewed it on - what did you think and any tips?
For those of you that haven't why not? why the glue?
I've got a friend who's sewed hers on and it looks just like she's glued it on - you can't see the thread or anything. In my opinion it looks a hell of alot better than some pictures i've seen where they've glued.
With glue (on some) you can see it sooooooo baddd!!

I was going to say I know you can I have practiced with a frontal and I have used the invisible thread...the only issue is that you have to sew it behind your hairline to get the natural effect...but I don't think I could do glue...too scared.

honestly i dont know how it look when sewed in but i wouldnt do it myself cuz it can damage the lace in the long run,
there are waterbased glue sold now
and glue that people in the theatrical industry use i.e spirit gum.

i know this doesnt mean it safe but well i think glued units are better and faster

do you mean sew it like a fall?  yes you can do that , you will leave out your hair in the front and wear it like a half wig.  
 
why do people use glue?  Because these wigs were initially intended for folks that didn't have any hair.  People that suffer from alopecia or cancer patients.  There is no hair to sew anything on and these lacewigs were the best alternative to looking natural vs wearing hardfront wigs which can often look very wiggy and unnatual and further have at tendency to come off if you dont have anything to pin the wig too.

if you want to sew it you may as well order a custom fall to wear behind your hairline with wig clips and double lace in the front ... or a mono ...

dont cut the lace ! .. braid a thin 5mm braid aroun your entire perimeter ...
 
fold the extra lace under and stich with invisible thread all around your perimeter... Smile
 
just an idea but its doable if you have a hairine...

It is absolutely possible to sew one of these wigs down.. Think of it as an "instant weave" or a very large "closure" of sorts.. It's all about the sewing technique used to prevent the thread from being seen. When I do this (later this year probably), my stylist will use a perimeter braid to adjust the wig as my hair grows.. The perimeter braid will allow her to remove the wig, re-braid the perimeter braid, and then re-apply the wig.. yes we had one member that sewed it in and she did it with invisible thread as well.. i personally don't prefer to do so b/c i find it more convenient to do the adhesive b/c i like to remove regularly for hair treatments and that would drive me crazy trying to get it out and put in back in.. i find the comfort in the adhesives and tapes to allow my hair to get healthy without the heat, chemicals etc...

Exactly what DivaVocals said!!
I do sew my daughters as a "quick weave".  The remy hair is better quality than you will find in bss, and lasts longer.  However, I DON'T use invisible thread!  The first time I did that I could not tell what was thread and what was hair and clipped some of her real hair off trying to get it off. 
 
I leave out a portion of her hair on top and around the edges, braid a thin track mixed with synthetic hair for traction, make smaller cornrows around her head with the rest of her hair, sew it down with WEAVE thread, and attatch the modified lf.  I do cut it to accomodate where her hair will cover.  Her hair has grown from shoulder to back bra strap in about 8 months.  We redo every 6-8 weeks.

I plan to do this before the end of this year.. This idea has ALWAYS appealed to me.. WalkSoftly, can you post pics of your duaghter's install?? I'd love to see.. There's many pluses to this for me personally in terms of time and other benefits.. I can't wait to do this..

I have also sewn my lf in.  I actually prefer to use glue b/c, I like to condition my hair every few days. But, there are a few different ways to sew it in. Also, I had problems with the invisible thread.  It didn't hold very well cause it was too thin.

As long as you are careful not to tear the lace, sew ins work beautifully and imo are more comfortable . . .depending on what I'm doing I even use bobby pins.  You just have to be careful . . .

I have sewed my unit on, I used the clear thread at the front & normal weave thread around the remaining .

I don't have any hair to sew the lace front on but what I have been doing is taping on my wig cap and then sewing my lace front to the wig cap with invisible thread and then gluing the edges, this method works well for me especially my nape !$% Aa n` ``d -$, P %&0` $(,, $(),)),% -$ ` !
