On another forum, I read about giving terribly tangled hair a bleach bath as a last resort. I did not have horrible hair issues at the time so I did not bookmark the site.

Apparently, you submerge the hair in a solution of bleach/hot water while combing through it (holding the weft upright). After rinsing thoroughly an ammonia solution is applied.

Has anyone heard of this or tried it?

Sounds crazy, I know, but I am desperate. My hair looks like three day dead roadkill on a windy day Angry

Oh yes, I have heard of it...let me go see where the exact instructions are. I think DivaV may have posted them before on here, if you do a search. Be right back....

OK, this is info posted by Sexibeach on BHM (she is super knowledgable about lace wigs and natural hair care).

BLEACH TIP TO DETANGLE YOUR UNIT

1. Mix one gallon of very hot water (hottest available from the tap) with 1/4 cup of Clorox bleach. (Do not use old Clorox or a generic brand, it won

Wow, I have NEVER heard of that before, dipping it in bleach. My brain doesn't want to wrap around that one. Have many of you guys tried this?

You can read a first hand account from someone who did try this, and more information about WHY this works..

Thanks MissHairGirl! The video is great. I have a tangled piece of weft hair that I'm gonna experiment on (can't resist).  The kids are gonna wonder what the H I'm doing :)
