Hello. Has anyone seen the infomercials for the True Ceramic Pro straightener? Of course, it looks too good to be true. I rarely trust anything advertised in an infomercial. They do not let you know how much it will actually cost, only that you can try it for free plus S&H. I do like ceramic straighteners much more than others; I have the Jilbere. I am just wondering if anyone has tried this & has any opinions of why it may be better than others. Thanks!

Peace,
endlessnite

Exactly why is it supposed to be so much better? Do they say?

I believe they say it is better because the plates are 100% ceramic. The others are supposedly only ceramic coated. Who knows? The Jilbere does work so much better than any other straightening iron that I've tried. I have no idea if the plates are only coated though. (or if it matters..)

Ah, I see. Yes, I've heard that claim about a very few other irons that claim to be 100% ceramic. The problem is finding someone who actually has one, as most people are just getting around to using a flatiron that has 'ceramic' plates.

Prolly a dumb question, but have you Googled it? A lot of the time in googling a flat iron I came across reviews by accident...

yes, i've actually never have seen the infomercials, but it was absolutely amazing. I have very curly hair that gets frizzy easily, and really did straighten my hair (and left it REALLY soft). I would recommend it for ANYONE because if i can get through my hair, it can work on anyone.

I would assume for any site online you would need a credit card, or at least Paypal.

i have a straightener from Helen of Troy and it works but sometimes at the end of the day it kinda frizzes up a bit. i saw this infomercial and wanted to know how it works. can you hold the other end of the straightener as you straighten your hair or does that part heat up as well? because i''m afraid of burning my fingers. i bought my straightener at a beauty store for about $40 and i''m not sure if i would spend that much money for another straightener, but if i was to, i''d just like to know how it works exactly.

UPDATE!!! UPDATE!!! UPDATE!!!
PLEASE SEE MY NEW POSTING ABOUT THE TRUE CERAMIC PRO ON PAGE 3!!!

I just wanted to let everyone know the official website of the true ceramic pro is:
www.advancedbeautysolutions.com or you can type www.trueceramicpro.com and you will get the same website. The iron is $119.97 not $140.00. If you buy the iron by itself it is $119.97 + $3.99 s/h for a total of $123.96. If you want the iron with the accesories such as the true cool carrying case, styling clips, heat & play spray, thermal styler, ionic comb and brush, dvd, and more the price is $119.97 + $14.99 s/h for a total of $134.96. I would advise anyone who is interested in the true ceramic pro to go to the official site. There you can order online at their website or you can call their official toll free number to order by phone. It is a really nice website showing before and afters, easy step by step guides, more information on the true ceramic pro and what exactly it does for your hair, and you can see all of their abs approved products! I hope that this information can be of some help to anyone who is interested in the true ceramic pro.

I ordered the True Ceramic Pro about three weeks ago and just received it today. What a GODSEND! I admit that it is a bit pricey, but my mother treated me to it for my 19th birthday. I think the whole total came up to something like $119.00. But I feel it's totally worth it, considering you get the hair clips, paddle brush, two bottles of styling products, fine tooth comb, and carrying case for all of it. Plus, you also get a 25 dollar certificate to their advanced beauty solutions products. I'm planning on buying a few of those as soon as I can.

The straightener is great. I just cut my hair super short yesterday unfortunately, but it's still long enough to straighten it. Let me tell you, that straightener did wonders. I have super thick straight hair that frizzes and puffs up when I blow dry it...but this straightener made it poker straight...not even my hot tools straightener could do that (and it totally fried my hair). All in all, I'd say that it was worth every penny. I can't wait until my hair grows out more so I can really put it to work.

I wouldn't say it's overkill. Any ceramic straightener will definitely cost over 100 dollars if it's TRUE ceramic. Most of them are just ceramic coated and that's never good. The best thing about ceramic is that it isn't as damaging to the hair. Now if I had to decide between my regular Hot Tools straightener and my True Ceramic Pro, there would be no competition. My True Ceramic Pro is the best thing in the WORLD. The Hot Tools damaged my hair way too much anyway.

I ordered the True Ceramic Pro on the 20th of December and received it on the 30th. They had quick shipping in my case and the product works wonders. My hair normally takes an hour and 45 minues but with the ceramic pro it only took 30 minutes I love it. Definetly happy with this item. Worth the price. The order number is 1-888-80-style

WOW!!! IT WORKS GREAT!!! THIS IS THE BEST IRON I HAVE EVER USED ON MY HAIR IN MY LIFE!!!

Hello,

I ordered the true ceramic pro by phone on
12-28-04 and it came yesterday, 1-4-05!!! I praise God! I was so surprised that it came so fast! Less than 7 business days! Wow!!!

Well, right away I opened the box and I could hardly wait to try it out. My hair was still damp from washing it, so I had to blow dry it. I liked the ionic brush that came with the iron because it seemed to make my hair softer. I am multiracial and I have very long hair (almost waistlength), but it is very curly, wavy, and tends to be very frizzy and looks very poofy in humid weather or when brushed with no water. Even though my hair may not appear coarse, I have very strong wave patterns and it was very hard to staighten my hair, even with a hot comb!.... not anymore!!! After I blow dried my hair, it was big and puffy. I was really praying that the iron would work on my hair also because God used my grandmother to get the true ceramic pro for me as a Christmas and Birthday gift and I didn't want her to waste her money on something that wouldn't work for me... so to make a long story short, I tested the tcp iron on a small section of my hair and I could hardly believe it! It looked great! My mother did one side of my hair and I did the other. My hair did not look dry and my ends did not look brittle! I praise God, it was so staight, soft, and healthy looking! This iron is the best iron that I have ever used on my hair in my life!!! My mom was even surprised! Usually I used to have to go over the same piece of hair over and over again to achieve any type of straightness only to end up with frizz after a few hours, but not with the true ceramic pro! From what I have experienced, this iron is well worth the money!

The real test was when I went outside, I live in Southern California, and currently we have had alot of rain and it has been very cold and damp outside.
I usually never wear my hair down, but yesterday after using the true ceramic pro, I wore it mostly down, I went outside in the damp weather and my hair did not frizz out! Praise the Lord! Both my mom and I were amazed that my hair remained so straight in that kind of weather.

I just wanted to write this to encourage anyone with ethnic hair, to try the true ceramic pro. It's only $14.99 to try it for 30 days if you don't like it at least you get to keep the accesories just for trying it! Also, there is a 6 month warranty for the iron itself!

The ordering number is 888-80-STYLE and the official web address is www.advancedbeautysolutions.com

Additional Note: On the official website it might say $15.99 for s/h, but when I called and spoke to a representative, she charged me $14.99 for s/h, so maybe it would be a good idea to call the toll free number. This is the official number from the official website.

Jesus loves you!

hi girls,

well i have been trying to reply to this thread for the longest time but i was having trouble registering. anyways, i checked this thread daily because i also ordered the tru ceramic pro and i couldn't wait to get it. my shipping took forever. i order it on Nov 27th and got it on Jan 4th. anyways, i have very thick, frizzy, and wavy hair. nothing i tried worked on my hair. i even paid $180 for the HARDCORE straight iron form toni and guy and it didn't work in my hair. all my life i have looked for something to tame my hair. this iron works wonders for my hair. i think it is worth the price, i probably would pay even more. i didn't even have to use any products. i blow dried my hair and it was very frizzy and puffy. then i followed the instructions on the dvd and it worked! now i get so many compliments on my hair and it had raised my self esteem so much. its the best gift i've ever received. my advice to anyone who is debating----TRY IT! TRY IT! TRY IT! you absolutely won't regret it.

The iron has adjustable heat settings and should not burn the hair. If you have very fine hair, you should begin with the lowest temperature setting first as to avoid any damage to the hair. If you notice that the iron is unusually hot even on the lowest setting, most likely you have a defective iron and you should return it to the company and exchange it for a new one. If someone says that the true ceramic pro burned off their hair, you should find out the complete details of how it happened, like what heat setting was the iron set to when the incident happened?, did the person have color treated hair?, etc.. before just deeming it a bad product, because it might have been set at too high of a setting for that person's particular hair type or possibly it was a defective iron.

Tanyaa, I sincerely hope you're not putting hot metal in wet hair. You're going to end up damaging your hair severely, if not burning it off.

I just now ordered the True Ceramic Pro and I am keeping my fingers crossed that it WILL work. (By the way, I got sucked into ordering one of those Revo Stylers and... well, all I can say is... don't do it!)

It seems that MOST of the people posting have positive things to say about the TCP; however, since this is not in the "African American" board, I'm not sure what types of hair this is working on. The reason I ask is because I ordered this for my daughter, who IS mixed (and her hair really reflects it -- it's got all different textures in it). She inherited her dad's very wavy hair, which is thick at the roots and looks as though it's been crimped; the minute she brushes it, it's totally frizzy, especially on the ends, because she also inherited from me my VERY VERY baby fine, stick straight hair.

Bottom line is that I'm hoping this will work for her. I figured the cost was worth it, because for the last 8 months or so, we've been going to professionals to get her hair flat ironed, and it costs around $50 or $60 each time, and then of course she can't wash it until we have another appointment again, so either we have to spend a LOT of money going often OR she doesn't get to wash her hair too often (her hair is also a combo of dry and oily, so it can get pretty nasty)!

If anyone has any tips or feedback for me, or has similar hair as my daughter's, let me know. I would really appreciate it! And when I do receive the True Ceramic Pro and try it, I will definitely get back to you guys on how it works! Thanks!

Hello,

I am the same person who posted a very long posting about the true ceramic pro on page 3, saying "this is the best iron I have ever used on my hair in my life!". I just wanted to make it very clear to everyone who read my posting that I am mixed. I have fine, curly, very wavy hair, and because I am multiracial, I have different textures of hair on my head. Both of my parents are mixed and I came out with hair that is a combination of both of them.
My dad is Jamaican,French,Irish, and Souix Native American and my mom is Russian Jew, Black, white, and Choctaw Native American. But I think that many or most people when they see me, can see that I am part black, of which I feel very blessed to be!

I said all of that because it is so hard for me to describe the kind of hair that I have in writing, but I am a mixed girl and mostly all of the friends I have had growing up, are biracial (black & white) and each one of my friends, has a different hair type. One has more coarse, thick hair, the other has soft spirals, and me, kind of a combination of it all! So, I can't really say for sure if the tcp will work for you, because everyone is unique and different, but it has really worked for my hair and it has made my hair straight, soft, and more shiny and the results have lasted a very long time! Praise God!

I would advise anyone with fine hair or fine hair ends, please do not put the iron at the highest setting right away, try the lower setting first, then gradually increase the temperature as needed.

If you have very dry or damaged ends, using a little ethnic moisturizing conditioner on the ends of your hair may be of great benefit, I found, for me, it helped the cuticle to lie flatter and gave a nice shine at the ends.

Also, if you have not read my posting on page 3, please read it. In the posting I explained more indepth my experience with the tcp iron.

I hope that this posting has helped anyone with mixed hair or a parent of a child with mixed hair.

Additional Note:
Also, I think that people who have very coarse or "kinky" hair should try the true ceramic pro, because I believe that it can help reduce the need for relaxing the hair every 4 to 6 weeks and at the proper heat setting for hair type, can cause less damage to the hair than chemicals.

To anyone who is reading this who has very coarse hair, don't be concerned about not seeing alot of postings from people who have the exact same hair type as you do. My advise is to try the True Ceramic Pro and see how it works for you. You will not know for sure unless you try it. I am saying this because I think that alot of people with very coarse, curly hair are hesitant to try the tcp iron because they think that the tcp won't work for them because their hair is too coarse or curly, but I don't believe that is true. Everyone is truly individual and unique and even though you may not see a reflection of yourself represented in the infomercial, that doesn't mean it won't work for you! Please try the True Ceramic Pro and let us know how it worked for you!

Jesus loves you!

Hi Nylane777 and THANK YOU for responding to my post!

First, how weird is this -- I had not seen the commercial for the TCP in a very long time, but I happened to have the TV on very early this morning, and there it was! I figure it must be fate that I ordered this thing yesterday

Anyway, your posts were very helpful, and I'm really hopeful about this product working. I had read your post on page 3 before (which, in addition to posts by others, really encouraged me), but I went back and read it again and then realized that you are from So. Calif. also. I'm in Los Angeles, so the weather factor at least is the same for you and my daughter! And I can just imagine how many different textures your hair must be with ALL those wonderful ethnicities/nationalities you have -- I thought my daughter had a lot (many the same as you), but you REALLY are lucky to have so many wonderful genes and cultures in your background.

I tried to send a letter to Customer Service at the TCP company to get an idea when I might be receiving the product, but so far no answer... I hope that doesn't mean it will take TOO long. Will keep you and the others on this message board posted as to the progress of the transaction and, of course, the USE of it (hopefully that will be soon!)

Thanks again to you and all who have put in their feedback -- it's most appreciated!

Helaine

P.S. Sara wanted to be sure that I made an announcement that the picture is very OLD (truly it is -- our sweet cat isn't even alive anymore)
