I've owned and used  Solia, Cricket, Matrix, Hot tools, Bedhead, and Babyliss . I was thinking of getting a GHD but really I can't afford it. I asked my Favorite hairstylist - who is a god, What flat iron I should get and she suggested a Cortex which is a great chi dupe. Said they have high heat ( 410 adjustable ), 100% ceramix plates and is 40$ Canadian! - Does just as good of a job as any other iron. I'm wondering what  your thoughts on the cortex flat iron is?
I've used these other irons and my biggest issues are when they fry your hair ( solia, babyliss, hot tools ) vs. Making it all silky & shiney (bedhead, cricket) my hair is Med/Thick wavy and black. Is my hairstylist on crack? or is the cortex a good option?
