I have been doing a lot of research on the best oil to use for braids.

Some people claim you should never ever use oil in your hair because it will cause the hair to matte and tangle.  They recommend an oil free leave-in conditioner.

Other people swear by their own favorite oil ranging from Extra Virgin Olive Oil (EVOO) to Coconut oil to Castor Oil to a wide range of blends.

Somebody else told me to use Aloe Vera Juice diluted with water - 2 parts aloe vera juice to 1 part of water.  They told me to spray this into my hair on a daily basis.

I am totally confused now.  Any suggestions or feedback would be so helpful.  Right now I am planning on experimenting but I would love to be able to cut to the chase.

You should try pure natural coconut oil for your hair.
