I think I've finally found an oil that doesn't make my hair stiff, crunchy, and dull-looking! I also find it easy to apply without putting too much on and ending up with big greasy clumps of hair. I bought some Red Palm Oil to use for making shampoo bars, but then I decided to use a recipe that doesn't call for palm oil, so I tried a little on my hair. I just put a small amount on a little chunk of hair. It didn't immediately make my hair crunchy and nasty, so I decided to try more the next time I washed my hair. Well, I washed it this morning, and after I got out of the shower, I detangled my hair with my fingers, put a little bit of palm oil on my hands, and worked it into my damp hair. My hair is dry and put up now, and it never got crunchy. It was sooo easy to comb through, too! I did dilute some conditioner with water and use it on my ends in the shower, but I think next time I wash it, I'll try not using any conditioner at all. If you have trouble with oils making your hair crunchy, I'd say give Red Palm Oil a try--maybe it will work for you, too!  ------------- Current length: approx. 52" Goal length: Infinity :) |

Oils were making my hair crunchy but then I started putting jojoba oil on damp hair and now my hair loves it! |

| Jojoba oil is my favorite too. I use it everytime I wash my hair. I use coconut oil for heavy over night oiling about once a month. |

Neither jojoba nor coconut oil ever worked for me, whether I used them on damp hair or dry. Funny how one thing will work for some people, and not for others, isn't it?

I tried coconut and shea butter before I settled on jojoba oil and that only worked on damp hair, not dry hair. Give it a go Likalime - I think fine, straight hairs seem to prefer coconut oil whilst wurlies and curlies have a preference for shea butter or jojoba butter.
