Thanks ladies Embarrassed...

I struggled with maintaining a nice hairline because I wear makeup (I have to, or I'd scare people). So I posed a question about makeup and how to keep the hairline looking like "Day 1".  Breh mentioned that she uses Ada Cosmetics (I ordered some, got it yesterday). Then she said to tie down my hairline during makeup application and when I wash my face. So, with those tips, I'm rocking a 3-day hairline that still looks "newly applied".

The adhesive I used is ORWG. I have ProFlex No Shine tape (small tab piece) in front of my ears only (to prevent the Nexcare wrap from sliding).

D'oh! My bad on the adhesive type Ouch!  I thank you anyway! I couldn't have achieved the look without you, no matter what adhesive I used! Now, you're gonna make me get some HDWA and see how that works Wink.

Either way, thanks a million!!!

I've heard of it... almost fell for it. But, I've read on the vendor's site that sells the product that it takes time to master the technique (5 - 7 days). I'm slow, and I don't have the time to look crazy while I figure it out. LOL SI,`p "$, 2 "2 $$bp /8 -) %,%-)%! %(`b

This is the best hairline I have seen!  So, is this a kinky straight behind your hairline cause it really does look so good, that I thought it was behind your hairline.   Please share your technique.  I just ordered me some Ada.

I'm wearing a Holly Zhang stock, Indian Remy, Body Wave, 24"... (yes, I'm rocking some length. I can grow 18", why buy it).

I apply in front of my natural hairline, with about a tiny bit of lace in tact, just in front of the baby hairs. I brush on a thin layer of OWRG, let it dry clear, then add another. Once that's dry, I place the ProFlex tapes just in front of my ears to hold down the Nexcare Coban wrap (I don't use a wig cap anymore). Then apply the unit.

The problem I had was getting a "newly applied" look to go the distance. Since I started  to tie down my hairline before each makeup application and before I wash off my makeup off, it looks MUCH better on day 3 then it ever did.

IMO, I think an important key is the makeup color, too. Ada products come in an impressive variety of flesh tones for women of color.

Thank you! I've learned so much from the ladies on this forum that I can't take credit for nothing but making the decision to "pay attention"Wink.

Upon Breh's correction of the adhesive she recommended, I just ordered HDWA. I'm looking forward to similar success with that product.

I wish I knew how to tweak the hair line, though.

I like it as is because I think the minor imperfections are what make it look so gorgeous and natural. I forgot to put Tape Tab Compound around the perimeter of my IR medium yaki from Holly when I first got it and I also lost some hair around the front after wearing it for about 4-5 weeks without the compound underneath to stop the hair loss. Since it was already a little too large on the front to nape measurement I just cut a new front hairline and made new baby hairs and it's good as new. I put the Tape Tab Compound around the perimeter after I fixed it so it wouldn't happen again. Breh has a tutorial on how to do it and it could save you a little $$. Trying it for the 1st time was a little scary but it wasn't that hard at all. The best part is that you get to make the EXACT hairline you want.

Smile Thanks for the information. I'll have to get the nerve to try it. I've seen Breh's article about how to create a new hairline; and, to be honest I don't have the nerve to try it. I'll have to practice on a old unit, one day. SI,`p "$, 2 "2 $$bp /8 -) %,%-)%! %(`b
