Hey all,

I just went for a facial and my facialist was telling me she has been getting lots of requests for not only eye lash extensions but also eye lash perms.  I confess I never heard of that before and she said that it was hot a few years back.

She told me that she had taken some classes in eyelash perming and they they actually apply tiny curlers to the lashes and then apply a chemical that makes that hold the curl for up to 6 weeks.

Has anyone heard of this before? She said that you have to keep your eyes open the entire time and some people do have allergies to the solutions.

Of course she also said it is challenging to get the tiny rollers put into the eyelashes.

At first I thought she was kidding me but she was dead serious.

At this time she is also investigating eyelash extensions.  I told her I would be a guinea pig if she decided to do it.

She uses Karin Herzog products on my face and wow....I am getting so many compliments.  I can only imagine if she does the eyelash work.  She does eyebrow work but I have not let her touch my yet.  Maybe someday when I am braver (I hate any unnecessary pain - LOL).

yes, i certainly didnt know such a thing existed, but...not too long ago a lady on BHM talked about getting her lashes permed, i asked her if your lashes are rolled like hair is and she said that they used a tiny roller on a wand-apply the solution-rinse-done....i did a search at that time and found this http://www.eyelashperm.com/
although i like doing things myself, i like having eyesight so i've decided to bypass this particular item   ,!$$ `ala`d % -%4 `` " , b ($ !$%$$( ($$0"" '6

I've actually done the eyelash perm..  twice.. Both times I asked myself why the heck I was doing it because you can feel all this solution dripping into your eyes, and it smells just like hair perm solution..  the results are really good.  The perm makes my eyes look bigger because the curl actually makes my lids open up a bit more.  They are tiny rods, but I think they are sticky, so she just "sticks" the eyelashes onto the rods, and rolls, after they're permed, she applies a lot of water, probably to get rid of the stickiness, and then takes them out.
I wouldn't do it again..

Rockstar,

Was it expensive? Are you eyelashes long to begin with (I have very short eyebrows)?

This is crazy! I imagine you would need strong lashes for this to hold! % Aad `dabe -, 4`` '$ b " ,$-,$ !-,- -$"0 0

Just like hair, if eyelashes are too short, too fine or damaged an eyelash perm would not be a wise decision.

I am not sure how popular the eyelash perm still is with the introduction of eyelash transformation products like Latisse.  It would be interesting to find out if people are switching from the original eyelash perm to the different eyelash thickeners and extenders.

Hi Karen,

I had my eyelash perm last year and it took an hour to do it and it last 3 months. I had no problems with eyelash perm and I love it. No allergies or rashes and all I had to do was keep my eyes close for an hour and it was done after an hour. The thing is I had to remove the debris on my eyelashes and it look like cobwebs. Tto completely remove it, all I did was take a long shower and it came off easily. I am wanting to try the eyelash extension because I think it makes us look more sophisticate with long curly eyelashes. I just don't know how long the eyelash will last because I never tried it but I am thinking about it.

Thanks for the great feedback.  I may want to try this myself.  It sounds a lot less complicated than I originally thought. !-! Sadbad

There is also another perm offered for lashes that are too curly (African American lashes). It is simply like a no-lye hair perm lightly applied to lashes using a mascara-type brush. You leave it on for a short period of time and once the curl is loosened, the lashes appear to be MUCH longer than they were when they were curled up. Interesting concept,..... $- P cn`dp0% 00BB .(4`p /.%%%,%(!) %( %0`r #.

Yes, but don't they drop with the real ones? Do you have any impressions from Latisse?
