I know that everybody says not to do it, but what would be the actual consequences of starting dreads with hair gel?

I know that they probably wouldn't lock up as quickly, but my main concern is mildew growing in the dreads.....

It is pretty much with beeswax I hear. But gel I really do not see why I used aloe vera gel because it is washable!  What ruins locks is not cleaning them and putting cement gum and other crap that is not natural for your hair.  You can't go wrong with natural products and anything with no petroleum or mineral oil. You should be fine. Thumbs%20Up %! `bh`d! ! !<, -
