I have a client with 95 % gray hair. We color it a level 3 N. She thinks a little harsh, she's 60.  She'd like it a little lighter but doesn't want to see the grey outgrowth.  I've considered highlights but whe still is going to see an outgrowth and I still have to deal with the retouch of the level 3 color... she doesn't want to be totally gray......any suggestions??????

At 95% gray, you can pick whatever level color she wants to be! Of course if she has alot of the old color left, you can weave that out so it it matches the new base color. I suppose it matters what brand color you use. I use Goldwell, and you use the N, or NN for the gray, and then whatever you want your target color to be.
