Whats up fellas, recently I've been getting a lot of PM's about how i got waves, what products i use, my method, and so on. Well i'm going to post ALL OF THAT INFORMATION HERE!
THE BEGINNING:
I first got into waves back in 1998, and had them but not connected until 2004, when i decided to try out dreads. After a year of that, i cut my hair back low and began the wave process again. Throughout 2005, i achieved waves on my top, back and some what on my left side. After finding this site in early May, I realized i had a LOT of work to do in order to get my waves where i wanted them.
HAIR BOUTIQUE:
Before finding this site, I was like most ignorant people and felt that all you needed to get waves was a pomade and du rag. Well, I was wrong! I was using murray's original pomade and a med brush and had somewhat of a decent wave pattern. But they were not the 360s that I have today. I also tried out numerous Spartan products which i will say that NO ONE should BUY!!!
After finding this site, i learned that all you truely need to achieve waves is a brush, and determination. I began to use Carrot Creme and it was one of the best decisions i have made. It has been 9 Weeks since Pomade has touched my hair, and my hair looks and feels better than ever!
MY CURRENT METHOD:
Wash days:
Firstly, I wash my hair every day, or every 2days at the most. I use Motions Shampoo and Motions Conditioner. I brush ALOT while my hair is wet. After i'm thru in the shower, I towel dry most of it, and brush til damp with a soft Annie 2080 brush. I then apply carrot creme to my hair and brush brush brush! that is the key to it all, BRUSH! Occasionaly, if I'm going out or something, i'll thro in some Let's Jam! orange top and brush that with a softee. At night, i always brush right until i'm about to go to sleep, and add a little more Carrot Creme.
No-Wash Days:
After I wake up and remove my Du-rag, I brush with a softee. I know many guys on here say not to brush that Du-rag look, but i have to because my waves actually extened onto my hairline and my hairline will look like its crooked if i dont brush it! While brushing, i add some Carrot Creme. Throughout the day, i brush as much as possible.
Products Used:
Currently, i only use my Carrot Creme, Annie 2060 for when hair is high, and Annie 2080 for when it is low. Let's Jam! when needed...
HOw Long B/W Cutz:
My hair grows EXTREMELY fast...I try to wait 3-4 wks b/w cutz, but it really just depends on if its an event i want to look fresh for! nothin beats those waves looking silky smooth when you gotta step out to something!
!!!QUESTIONS!!!
I'll be more than happy to answer any questions pertaining to my waves or waves in general, but i ask that you READ THIS FIRST! this will save both of our time! aight fellaz, stay up! jqrs2006-09-23 12:00:04

[QUOTE=bLaZe332]But with the du rag look u get that line in the bakk, arent u supposed to brush it out?
dont tie durag so tite. jus tite enuff to keep durag in place and u wont get that line. cuz eventually it will start to leave a permanent line.
Oh and good lookin out JQRS.... spoken like a tru DT memba |

This is a good look for some of us on here ... maybe
this will make you realize you don't need a pound
of pomade a day to get waves ... brushing, moisturizing,
and cleaning ... the real three keys to attaining waves ...
G'night. |

A yall, but don't the carrot cream dry out your hair a lil. I use to always use pink lotion and my hair use to be shinnin and I switched to using cc and barely using the pink lotion and my hair started to look dry. I have know switched back to Pnk Ltn and my hair is back to looking smooth and shinny, though I do like how cc makes my hair easier to take car of. % Q`eba4b` -,

diff things work better for diff people depending on their hair...pink lotion just went str8 thru my hair and did nothin, but CC gives it a real nice shine...dats y my hair look smooth and wet on those pics.... |

Pnk Ltn stays in good in my hair and makes it look good, but not really that managable when it's long thats why I use the cc when my hair has some length, but yeah, cc cream doesn't really keep my hair moisturized. % Q`eba4b` -,

Ok. I have been in the wave game for 4 weeks now on friday it will be 5. I have been growin my hair out while wavin for 5 weeks now. I also use CC and lets jam orange top, but now that my hair is this long i dont think that its doing too much. My hair is starting to look really jacked up and i think its time for a cut. Should I get a cut. I got a few waves and people said if i get it cut they will be more defined. Cuz whenever I brush it stays wet and soft for a lil bit then it gets kinda dry and my hair sticks up alot if i dont du-rag |

yep me 2. I cant go any longa than bout 4 weeks. and even thats pushin it. usually i jus try and go every 3 weeks. But about the pnk lotion/ i go wit that as well. it works wonders in my hair. CC jus would dry me out and make my hair hard. pink gives me that softness and wet look (shine) that brings the waves out... but like jqrs diff products work for diff hair types. u gotta find what works for u |

That use to happen to me, but know I use carrot cream and a hard or med brush and it's not a problem, probably until more that six weeks which I have never went to. Keep using the cc and try to use it a lil bit more if your hair is still not managable because when I put the cc in my hair becomes really managable. % Q`eba4b` -,
