I just moved to Georgia from New Mexico and the water is either harder here or softer. When I wash my hair in the shower its more tangly than it was there and it feels different, like not so soft. I've slopped on the deep conditioners and I do take good care of my hair with good products but could it be the water is too hard? Should I buy a water softner or shower filter?? Any advice?

I think first you need to know if your water is hard or soft.  How much lather do you get?  A lot of lather means soft water.

Then hopefully someone else can help you with what to do next

It sounds like hard water to me, but that's only a guess.  I agree with enfys and would suggest that you get a water test to find out if the water is hard and exactly how hard.  Then, if the hardness level is fairly significant, you can make a decision about a water softener.0- Ai

Thanks , I do not get a good lather, and I like lather. I will do what you recommended.
