I am 13 and I have Brown just over shoulder length, very thick hair. I straighten my hair and its straightened in the pictures. If I don't straighten my hair its quite big and slighty wavy (but it just looks like kinks). Its got a few layers in and I havn't got bangs or anything, my hair is just scooped behind my ear in that picture xD
I've gone short before in a bob kinda thing and I hated it but it was basicly cut so that all my hair would be the same length becuase my layers were very messed up a few years ago.
I was messing about with my hair this morning and I thought it looked nice just below my ears. But Im just worried that as my hair is so thick that it will be really poofy and stick out when it is cut.
I'm getting my hair cut this saturday so any suggestions would be helpful!

I think an angled bob would look great with your thick hair . i also think u should buzz the nape up about midway some like these pics.

< 4@.$ `.4$ ````$ Those look very nice! I especially like the first one and the 3rd one. The only thing I'm worried about is that they flick towards the face and my hair flicks outwards, even a little bit after straightening. The 2nd one is cute but it might make my hair a bit poofy.
I'm also thinking how short I should go? I think it might look quite nice just below my chin as right at the front my hair is just slightly longer than that and its the only place my hair kinda flicks inwards xD The number one thing I don't want though is poofyness! I would love to keep the same volume I hav now (not too bad)if its possible! Thanks! LeBubblelicious38839.4973263889

After much research I have decided what I want! I'm going to get a layered bob and its not going to be too short, maybe just over chin length(Im awful at describing things by typing :P)
And my 2nd cousin cuts my hair (she is a professional btw) so it should be quite easy to get across what I want, and nothing should go wrong But she does have a baby so it might be telling her this time and waiting for 6 weeks, but I'm not too bothered.

It looks great. but ever think of getting it angled in the back and buzzing the nape but keep the front that lenght.

I'm thinking at my next hair cut in 6 weeks or so I might get the lower layers of hair thinned out a bit or just generaly get it slightly thinned for the summer as it is stil quite thick

hey i used to have really long hair but then a haircut went bad and its like your past haircut style...layered and just a bit over the shoulder. i know exactly what u mean when u say your hair sticks out when its near chin length b/c i used to have a bob and gosh did i have to wake up really early just to straighten it!!! =) btw i heart your bob, it frames your hair nicely...if only someone could give suggestions for my hair, i had it cut (its supposed to be trimmed and to keep the layer but the cut went all wrong), dyed, and highlighted now its been like...4 months now with no touchups!! usually i get it done whenever my roots grow back but ever since the haircut that went screwed up i dont think i should trust my stylist and i have no idea what style i should do...but congrats on your decision for the bob 8!% Big adu d $% ,` -6 "

@ lilmizzsexy Thanks! Yes everyone says to me they wish they could have as thicker hair as me but believe me they dont xD Good Luck with your hair I'm sure you will look fab!
Anyways I'm very happy with my bob buts its halfway through (I get my hair cut every 6 weeks) and I'm wondering if I should get layers or not and maybe a bit of a sideswept shorter bits at the front? I cant have my hair both behind my ears or both infront it just looks stupid.
So I now have a kink on one side of my hair where its behind my ear xD
Also I can't blow dry my hair as I have dry scalp so I wash my hair with either L'oreal frizz ease or T-gel which are doing the trick!
So anyways layers or not? I dont want my hair to go anymore poof than it is. But my hair is pretty poof already.
Here are some pictures to explain. (((Btw in these pictures my hair is striaghtened. If it wasnt it would be about a centimetre more volume and a huge wave halfway down :s)))

Well I'm getting my hair cut next saturday (17th) and after much discussion with friends, family and about 10 different websites I've decided it might be better to get layers. My friend who has a similar hair type got them and it really helped. ^^
My hair grows really quickly and right now its gone absolutley crazy. So I think layers might help this.
Thanks for all your help everyoen and I'll be sure to post some pictures when I get it done.

Just my opinion but I think the style above is a little hardcore ('cept for the guys with a clipper fetish)

That's my sense too, Hal. Pictures of styles are okay. Pictures of the process are over the top. Nobody asked for words or pictures to describe the use of the clippers.
I'll let this picture stand, but will ask members to refrain from posting pictures that deviate from the discussion at hand.
