Hi girly4216,

I think you'll find my Website on "Chemical Hair Straightening" to be quite informative http://www.verticalsinhair.com

I also have a TR Forum (Thermal Reconditioning, also known as Japanese Hair Straightening) http://www.verticalsinhair.com/cgi-bin/yabb/YaBB.pl

Listen to anything Steve says. He is the best. I wish I had found him before my horrible experience with Thermal Reconditioning. He would have saved me so much grief. Glad to see you are here Steve.

Thermaionic is really good! If you pay too less then it's not good. Check around for prices. It takes about 4-6 hours. You might have to pay $100 and up. Under $100 I wouldn't go there. You need to ask how many relaxers they have done on white hair. Don't go to a black salon because black hair requires speacial needs then white hair. I am speaking  professionally. I would be affraid of a salon where they do less white straightening. They will have too strong of a chemical. White hair require less. You need to tell the stylist if you have ever done anything chemically at home or another shop in the last year! Most failed hair jobs go bad because of lack of infromation form the client. Good luck and I hope this helps.

Ps. If still worried have the stylist do a test strand on you. If still worried don't do it.

Hello Steve ,

What do you think about straightening a man with shorter hair?  How short is too short? He's hair isn't that curly it's just wavy. Really thick. He would have to grow it out before staightening. But how long? What would you do? Thank you, have a nice day.

Yes of course I do jlabradors!  If a stylist doesn't understand the science of permanent waving then they wouldn't know how to safely and effectively straighten/TR the hair either.

Hello Steve,

What about staightening a mans hair that is only 4 inches long. Would you do that? Do you ever come across people who don't perm? I have a client that won't take a perm. I will reperm. Do you have any advice on hard to perm hair? Thank you for making sure you answer all of my questions. I thank you for you time. j
