Hello everyone...I am new here.  But not really.  I have this site stored in my favorites and I check in to read at least once a day but I never have reason to post because I'm here for tips/questions and they always seem to get answered by you experts without me even asking

I've been hoping someone has an update on products received from hairhumanhair.com; specifically the skin wefts.  I just ordered.  I read the long thread on company but the last update was mid-Sept.

So if anyone has been using skin wefts, I would love another update (I read what Metal Girl said).  If anyone ordered from Mr. Liu to the States, can you tell me the approximate time from order to your doorstep.

TIA

I don't know about the skin wefts, but would love you to give your opinion on them once you get them.  I thought that they would be a great idea for partings and closures for afro /carribean / american weave wearers, but we would only need a couple of small peices.  I hope that the hair holds up for you anyway

Posted By: Phenomenal Joy
Date Posted: Sep 28, 2005 at 10:35am

Well, I ordered both yaki & curly.  I am really dying to hear from others who actually wear these darn skin wefts....it seems that no one who uses them for everyday wear is talking

I will happily give a report here, as I am also going to give one over on Black Hair Media...everyone's waiting for me to do it I guess.

I too was thinking it would be good for relaxed textured/Afro Carribbean Hair, however, the drawback is that oil breaks down the bond, especially if you don't use a second adhesive (I still don't know which adhesive this is).

Yes, the oil would be a problem, but I just wondered how they'd look as a closure type option.  Looks like your review is heavily anticipated.  I think that the skin wefts were also pricey.  It is remi hair?

Hi,

Charlene and I put in a jumbo order with him over a month ago, and now finally we just were notified that the shipment was sent.  We have not received it yet.

So far, I am not impressed that it took so long to ship the order, when his email to us stated shipping within 7 days.  I think it's been 5 weeks.

When we do get the order, we'll let you know what we think of the hair.

I myself have worn the seamless wefts (from Gemtress) on a long term basis (12 at a time) and I love them a lot.

MetalGirl...thank you for your reply!  (I was going to hunt you down ) Hmmm..now I am worried.  Oh well, at least you will get yours before I get mine and you can give a review as well.  I just ordered yesterday.  He told me it would be 17 days to receive my (much smaller than your) order.  I guess that's a lie unless what happened in your case was unusual.

I have heard such good things about how flat and natural they look.   I have two questions for you:  How do they feel and how much versatility do you have in styling?  (3 ?'s) and how long do they stay in?

remi lover, thanks for your replies too.  The hair is remy and ordereing from hairhumanhair.com, they are dirt cheap.  He is apparently the supplier to several retailers here, including hairpiece.com  There is a heavy UPS shipping charge and of course they only take bank wires and Western Union which also carries a charge.

Thanks  P. Joy, I'll have a look, but I doubt they will let me just buy one or two wefts  (bit cheeky I know)

I know, I think I might have to go into business myself here in the UK, as these things are not that readily catered for, and if they are, I cannot find them.

PJ, I'm interested in the skin wefts too. I emailed the guy and got his price list. How do u think the curly would blend w/ a NG 3b coarse type texture? I would need something that's not so shiny to blend around my part areas. So we all await your report... !

Hi Phenomenal Joy!

Seamless wefts lay very flat, therefore there is no bulk that you get from machine wefted weaves.  I found them to be very comfortable.

As for styling, as you know, the biggest drawback of wefts is that as they grow out, they get 'saggy', thus making it harder to put the hair up in  a pony tail.  While that is still the case with seamless wefts, it's not as much as a problem because they do lay so flat to the head.  I would style them as I normally would, either scrunch in curls with gel, flat iron, or curl with an iron.  I work out alot, so  I would pony tail the hair and it was fine.

How long they stay in depends on how they are applied.  I used the proflex 2 tape and some hair piece adhesive, and sandwiched my hair between 2 pieces of the weft.  I got 12 weeks out of them, but due to the saggy factor, I would say if you get 8 weeks out of them, that would probably be more realistic.

thanks for keeping us posted P.joy,  I have just read your "very thorough" information over on bhm (I can't post over there for some reason),  Now I can see that each strip measures 90cm I may just order 2 to start with, oh I don't know.  My main issues with buying hair have always been that it looks good until I step out of the house and then it's all over, tangles, split ends, dryness etc.  I'm wearing a medioka batch of indian hairs right now and I am not very impressed at all. I hope this stuff is good, if it is it may be my next move, as I insist on the hair not being snarly and full of split ends, dryness, or even worse BSS crap lol.  Looking forward to your verdict.  Do you think I can just order a couple of strips?

Posted By: Phenomenal Joy
Date Posted: Sep 29, 2005 at 7:10am

remilover, I think you would do well ordering a couple of strips, and I really think these strips will be perfect for blending with sewn or bonded in tracks.  As you can tell from my BHM thread, I ordered both yaki & remy and I can't wait to see this yaki texture!

I am planning to do my whole head with these skin wefts, so I purchased 4 strips of each.  4 strips=2 pks of BSS hair or somewhere around 8 oz of Indian Hair.  Wish me luck

remilover, BHM is the weirdest place.  Unlike the streamlined fashion in which my membership was approved over here, I have heard people who waited for, literally months, from the time the filled out a registration before they could post .  Admin really sucks over there, but I'm looking forward to seeing your posts...eventually.

Metalgirl, I really want to thank you for that information as it has been really hard to find an actual user review.  If you don't mind, I'm going to post your answer to my ?'s in my thread on BHM on the same topic.

Oh, and, unless Mr. Liu is just a liar, my order is going to be shipped soon.  He emailed me this morning to confirm the shipping address.  Maybe your "jumbo" order was something he couldn't meet really fast?  My order was small. (8 strips)

oh, i've worn Zury before. It's kinda decent for BSS.  I've worn Zury's Hollywood and Rodeo brands too. Wigs and weave.
Nice color. Is that the weave curl or did u hot curl it?

Hi P. Joy, just wanted to say that I think your hair looks very nice.  I love the curls they look really bouncy.  I may try this type of curl, what was it called on the packaging.  Please let me know how well it holds up, I know it probably won't last more than a few weeks as it is bss, but it doesn't look like bss hair on you at all.  Great job and nice colours.

Posted By: Phenomenal Joy
Date Posted: Oct 6, 2005 at 7:23am

Hey guys!  thanks for the compliments.  This is my first purchase of Zury Brand hair.  I have low expectations of BSS hair so from that perspective, the hair is exceeding them .

It's called Zury Ultra Twin, comes in a square gold box on two wefts, and Koffee, the 1st two pics are exactly how it looked straight out of the box, after I shook it a little.  Remilover, I think it came in more than one kind (waves and curls), but I have since thrown away the box , so I can't be sure.  Maybe if you look in a BSS or online for the Ultra Twin line of Zury, you'll be able to tell which one this is.

I only am wearing this till my skin wefts come, so hopefully it will last that long!  I am already having to run my fingers through it at the nape to get out some tangles, but nothing serious.

What is the lifespan of the seemless? Is this the system you need the red tape for? I'm becoming very curious with this method!

Keep us posted

HEY!  Unfortunately, MetalGirl was right ....I don't have the order yet.  Mr. Liu just sent me an email that said my order is going to be shipped on Wednesday.  So hopefully by some time next week, I will be able to post pics

Gina, thanks

And, I really have no practical experience with the skin wefts so I cannot be sure of the lifespan.  I do know that the hair itself is remy, so it should be good quality...but as far as "lifespan" of one application, I guess it depends on a variety of factors which I'll figure out as soon as the hair comes and I put it to the test.

metalGirl says she gets several weeks wear out of one application, and yes you can use a tape with it...I have seen one system that has a red tape (I think the GemTress) but I ordered proflex 2 tape as recommended by amm or metalgirl...I can't remember who recommended that!

well, I don't expect to receive my order until one day next week seeing as how he told me the hair would not ship until tomorrow (Wednesday) (keep in mind that when I ordered---on the 28th--- he told me I would have the hair by the 13th... now it's not even shipping until the 12th   Metalgirl warned me )

But what I'll do is take a bunch of pics and give a review of the hair itself then have it applied and take more pics.  It will be soon hopefully

I really would like to see what Metalgirl and Charlene have to say though...ladies????

PJ, I'm thinking about ordering some from Juyiart w/ my lacefront order. They seem a lil more pricey than yours tho. He said it's $16.80 for a 16inch long weft (14 inches wide). But I m waiting for you to get yours and give a review first. !

I'm due to receive my seamless wefts today, according to UPS tracking.

The wefts were sent to Charlene in NY, who then sent me my portion of the order.

Maybe she will pop in and give you her opinion on them, since she already received them.

Very slow shipping!  We placed this order probably about 6 weeks ago!

Well, give me a few days from the time the order comes in to post lots of pics and have it installed...and I will let you know how they stand up!

cool PJ. I'm trying to do my 'figuring" and see if i will save by generating a new order with yur HHH place. I can get them thrown in w/ the lacefronts I already ordered, and I won't  have to pay any more shipping charges that way (i've already pd $51 shipp;ing to Juyiart). If i generate new order w/ HHH, do u know how much shipping will be? I need to math that out to see if I will come out cheaper by paying 3 times more w/ Juyiart but paying no shipping charges. I was only going to get about 5 wefts from Juyiart, so that will be $84 for 70 inches. !

Girl you're making me do math  Okay...

5x14= 70 inches of 16 inch hair is what you're looking to order...

that will be 2 wefts from HHH (180 cm or 72 inches)= $48

HHH shipping is $36 (per kg).  Your total will be...the exact same $84

You'd actually come out paying more to HHH if you use Western Union or if your bank charges for Wire transfers.  I just found out that my bank gives me free wires but I'd already paid Western Union half a grip .  At least I know next time.

PJ, we figuring at same time . And math is not my favorite subject!
But I think i will have him put some in w/ my lacefronts. His last email said minimum was 100 piecs on skin wefts tho, so I need to discuss that with him first, cause no way I want that many.

But u right, WUnion wants quite a hefty fee for handling your transaction. Anyhoo, I will have to pay another WU fee if i add the skin wefts.. and I really hate that. I could have trx'ed all the funds at same time and only pd like $12 more. But now that i gotta do a separate trans'ctn.. it's gonna cost me another $34 bucks at WUnion! I wish these places just would take my plastic card!
Where u bank that u get free wires? I need to open an account there just for these overseas purchases..

According to Mr. Liu, HHH does custom make the skin wefts...that's what is taking so long  (12 days to make the order).  I wish I would have them by the weekend but I am not depending on it

I bank at Bank of America.  I have the "Advantage Account", which comes with a free safe deposit box, free wires, free stop payments, free cashier's checks, and free money orders .  I love my bank account!

100 pieces is a hefty minimum, and Mr. Liu did tell me that my next order from him will have to be larger.  His exact words were

"please you will increase your order, because of the order is
more small its quality is more difficult control."

Finally...............looking forward to seeing some pictures and see how you get on with them.  Do you find that bonding is ok for your hair.  I only use glue for a top track, and would not like to use it anywhere else.

Posted By: Phenomenal Joy
Date Posted: Oct 12, 2005 at 10:41am

Bonding is not my preferred method, but I have been okay with it.  I change hairstyles frequently so it's convenient.  In fact, I have different hair in now than I did in the pics in this thread...

I put this in two days ago. Don't know what it is...it was cheap from my friend's BSS.  I'm just playing around till my skin wefts arrive.  Anyway, I've experienced my share of breakage from Bonded in hair, but it was also due to overall lack of taking care of my hair in conjunction with bonding.  Now I have it DOWN.  My hair grows well when wearing them and I don't lose any hair on removal

Posted By: dlight
Date Posted: Oct 12, 2005 at 10:47am

I'm sorry to be repetitive p. joy, but how are you bonding your hair now? With the pro flex tape? How is it overall? How do you remove?

Sorry for all the questions...but I had this tape laying around for months and never used it so I'm a little curious.

BTW, your hair looks really nice in that last pic. Love the curls.

Posted By: Phenomenal Joy
Date Posted: Oct 12, 2005 at 11:50am

Hi!  No I am not using the proflex tape (although I do have a bunch of it laying around the house from use with my lacefront wig).

I just use glue to bond hair in, and on rare occasions I will use liquid gold on the top row, but I am not really a fan of the liquid gold, so mostly, when I bond-in, for a quick 'do, it's plain ole 99 cent bonding glue.

I am going to use the tape with my skin wefts, whenever they get here.  And thanks for the compliment.  I like tis hair...it's bushy and wild and only has to last a week

PJ, what kind of product do u use in your bush and wild hair to keep under control during the day?

And I haven't heard from Juyiart in 2 days now.  So I don't know if he's gonna drop down on the minimum skin wefts or not. I hope he's just busy making wigs... I'm not the least bit worried that I haven't heard from him since I W-unioned the $.

Then when I call W-U, first thing out agent mouth is "don't send your $, this is a scam, if you lose your money u cannot get it back thru us. WE are warning you...." All very dire indeed. But I told him i felt confident sending the $ and gave my consent. Odd...
Thanks for the reassurances tho.

what is the scam sending money through WU or sending it to the company

WTF?  WU is funny...they need to spend their time on some Nigerian Money scams  instead of trying to stop us from getting the good stuff .

If the agent had no proof, or previous problems with juyiart, why the hell would they say that???

PJ- I am soooo sorry for this late reply.  I just been so busy lately updating my site and planning for my London trip to see the salon expo- can't wait!  When suddenly, the 'ExtendMagic close up 2 root&face pics' thread gets me back in track- only to leave again soon.

But yeah this is me Charlene or Cyber!  Anyway, I have not tried the China order seamless yet on anybody.  I'm just having fun with the thermo wefts, cutting them and turning them into seamless!  But I did get the stick and the nail hair and so far I'm loving it over the hairpiece.com stick hair.  I like it b/c it stays straight and does not curl like the hairpiece one- well my own hair is not curly anyway.  Plus the price is way better than hp.

I am using these for special f/x only and installing them with protubes or my heating wand.

The hair is not bad.  I would say it's along the lines of Bohyme quality- which is not bad- but definitely no comparison to Extensions Plus.  I will order these again instead of the ones from the other companies.  I think the quality is about the same.

The only really good high-end human hair quality I have seen are the ones from Extensions Plus and Great Lengths {now that's really high-end}.  I also like the Russian Virgin hair too- never installed RK, Nature Girl, or Peruvian {so I can't comment}.  All the others are about the same.  Even my clients who get fill-ins like 10-20 pieces of special f/x on a biweekly basis notice no difference.  And they are the ones sporting like over 10+ methods in their hair- lol.  Love all my clients!!!

But right now the hottest selling extensions in my shop are not human at all.

ttys, Charlene

Metalgirl- I would say it was the course of 2 weeks not 6 weeks.

For those interested, I finally received the skin wefts I ordered from www.hairhumanhair.com.

Here are the pics, and I will have the hair installed tomorrow or Wed.

I ordered curly and yaki-straight.  It's very, very soft hair.  He screwed my order up though, sending the curly in the length requested for the straight & vice versa.     I am going to wear the straight hair first.   the last pic is some extra he sent as samples...a few pre-tipped and some blonde straight hair (not yaki)

looks pretty PJ! Now i need more info on the curly hair and what does when u wet it, and tangling. That's the one i'd be ordering. Have u wet it yet? And does the straight wave up some when wet? Thanks for the pix . I've been anxiously waiting. Juyiart said my lacefronts order would be delayed a day or 2 if i added skin wefts. I decided not to add, since I'd like to assess the quality of the hair in the lacefronts first before i order up a bunch of hair from him. He did (NICELY), say that he had a 12 inch skin weft he'd throw in w/ my lacefronts for me to sample.
Aolso I ordered the Peruvian hair and she is supposed to put in a sample of their skin weft too. So If i Like that one, I will order more from Peru. What i like about Peruvian merchant is that they will take a CREDIT CARD! No muss, no fuss (well, it was a lil bit of fuss). and best of all NO FEES!! (at least not on my end! )

PS: I just noticed I ALSO pd a cash transaction fee on my credit card  for the Juyiart W-U transfer. IT's considered as cash on the credit card and I was charged a 3% fee on my credit card. ; on top of the WU fees! Ouch

ETA: PJ do u know what color the 'skin' part would be on black /1b hair. That brown looks nice on the hair color you got. I wonder if they change color of skin based on hair color, or did u request a specific skin color?? TIA

ETA-TA: Ok, i think i'm tripping. I see now that the skin part is see thru, so it looks "tan like' because I'm seeing the hair thru it, right? The band itself isn't colored??

Hey, tonight I'll wet a little piece of each (I have 3 different textures, and let you know the results. I have to say, the hair feels so good , especially the yaki-straight.  It also feels to me like (although I might be imagining this) that the curly hair is kinda yaki...it just feels to me like it's closer to my own natual texture of hair.  You know I won't be able to truly assess the tangling aspect until I've had it in for a few days at least.

The hair I ordered is in color M4/30 (a mix of 4 & 30) but the wefted part on the blonde hair he sent is the same color.  I don't know if it will be the same for dark hair though, and I didn't request anything whatsoever in that regard.

The issue with the curly hair for me will be that I will also need to rod my own hair to blend, but I am going to do the straight hair first.

When my cash is right...I'll be ordering too! You just can't beat his prices! So, all in all how long did it take for you to receive your hair after the $ was wired?

PS... Is the blond seemless or a standard weft?

Koffee keep us posted on juyiart and the peru seemless... I asked juyiart about his seemless...he'll make them to you're specs, but his quote was more than liu's

trim that? This the same company that supplies hairpiece.com, right?

Thanks PJ for keeping us up to date, I love the look of those curls, they seem perfect for afro carribbean hair.  I am getting very tempted.  I wonder now you have your hands on them, would you be able to sew the wefts to cornrowed hair.  I ask because I like how it looks and feel that the top track would look great glued/taped in.  Now you have the hair can you tell me if that would be possible at all?

thanks

Koffee Brown~ The third texture is the large sample of blonde he sent which is silky straight (last pic)

Gina E~I ordered on 9/28 and received my order on 10/17  So I guess about 3 weeks in total.  The blonde is also a seamless/skin weft.  It's in pieces though, and I didn't order it; he just threw it in.  I might put some of it in as hilites (or not--the texture is different)

amm~aren't those curls the cutest!  The hair is not dry at all but it with the curly, after you comb it out, it's going to need some product to tame it and a bit of a trim on the scraggly ends.  I do beleive he supplies hairpiece.com

Remilover~the curly hair is thick and resembles, to me, an AA texture.  It's going to be very pretty when I get arund to wearing it (I am going to wear the straight first)  As far as sewing through the "skin", I am just not sure that would work, and keep in mind I am not an expert at sew-in weaves, only having had them done a few times.  But the actual skin part of these wefts---first, the hair is injected into the weft itself to resemble hair growing from scalp and it's made of "poly" and is very stretchy...I wonder if putting needle through it will damage it and cause it to tear.  It may be possible to sew around it but again, I am not sure how that end result will look.  I do know, that for use on that last top row or by the part just taped down as it was meant to be used, it would work out great in combination with a sewn in weave

Thanks pj, sorry one more thing, when you say work great, (and this is a long shot), do you mean I coud braid ALL my hair up and just use a peice of this type of weft with glue or tape and it would look like an actual parting with no visible signs that it is let's say "a foreign body" lol, thanks again.  And we are all I'm sure looking forward to seeing your pics of your new do.  Can I ask is your hair relaxed all over then in order to just do the bond/skin weft process?

Mildly relaxed, all over?,   I won't be able to use the skin wefts as mine is just relaxed for the parting, the rest is au natural!!!, so ther is no way I can do that method, but the hair looks very nice though, I want some good remi yaki .  When you do show us your do, would you mind explaining exactly how it is installed as I am very intrigued as to how other methods work as oppose to a good old fashioned (time comsuming at times) sew in.  Do you think that where you ordered from would supply the good hair on normal sew in wefts?  I saw some hair on their site, but it had bss written all over it though lol

I am speachless PJ, that looks brilliant, very nice and natural looking, colour is just right for you.  How did you apply it and how long did it take to put in, and also how long do you expect to keep it in.  sorry for all the questions again, but I am very interested in this yaki skin hair, as I need some excellent yaki to go over the indian hair, or if it is good, to do a fullhead.  I will have to sew though as my natural hair is just that, so it will not blend well except for at the front.  Again, that looks very nice on you (i want some..........)   sorry what length did you get?remilover38649.1871180556

This yaki hair has a wonderful texture...I absoultely love it, and it's been in now for 6 days, very few tangles, very little shedding, and best of all, whenever I put the right products on the hair and curl it, it looks awesome!  It matches my very midly relaxed hair texture very well (up close, I can tell the difference but that's just me).  I am not an expert on blending yaki with Indian, so I don't know how that works, but I would like to try it.  Hair human hair.com screwed my order up, and although I ordered 14" yaki and 16" curly, it came vice versa...the curly was shorter, so I think the yaki hair was about 16" but I cut it to about 14"

Thanks PJ for letting me know.  I am super tempted to relax my hair all over soon anyway and add a bit here and there where I like to see more length.  I am glad that you are pleased with it though, and if the hair is remi, if I were you I would stick with that over the IH, as I think most of us prefer the relaxed look over the silky look.  I currently have the IH in with the top track and double at the front in yaki and it matches perfectly when just pressed, but you know the BSS yaki STILL needs taming and shows the rest up if not carefully monitored all day long.  This is what I need some good yaki for, because the indian hair does hang well (if you get a good batch), and covering with yaki seems to work for a lot of us, but I am still in search of great yaki, may try bohyme saharian smooth but pricey if it still acts like BSS.  Again, thank you for keeping us all posted with your order

HEY PPLS am new here but i took my time to read all the post. very informative but i would like to know where i can get the skin weft for cheaps and the best "do is yourself" method. i prefer glue cuz it's quick but any suggestions r welcomed.

i really like the skin weft...and all this time i was rocking the "new" synthetic heat resistant weave like it was  the hottest thing since sliced bread. man i feel so foolish..anyways better late than never.

i can't wait to get my very own "hair"..and front it like it's all natural. lol
