lol yeh im in the same boat as ecto knows...

colouring, i cant help u with as im not too sure im going that far!

but with regards to your current level, its looking good! ofcourse u need more length but give it about 3 months and it will be looking alot better,

ive tried aload of style procedures to get his hair, and at the moment..i make sure its bone try, otherwise the straighterners wont have such a good effect, straighten it all over, then a normal sorta wax between my hands and put it all over, especially defining the sides..and then mess it all up with a towl to get it messy and defined, and then flatten it abit into shape...

to be truthful, i havent found the exact product he uses yet..and im assuming after trying everything under the sun that his hair stylists must use some sort of combinations of products, definately a bit of hair spray to finish it off.. im assuming its sum sort of wax or texturiser? the thing is that although wax looks good to start off with, it tends to dry up abit..and doesnt really maintain the shiny textured look i find,

furthermore, this hair style i think is really tempremental, somedays it looks great, somedays it doesnt..which means make sure u gotta nice baseball cap somewhere,

good luck!

heres my attempt so far...

i was very close too acheiving this style before i decided to get a haircut. This was me on my way to acheiving charlies hair...(note that i didnt bother so much with colour and regrowth, was leavign that till the end for least amount of hair damage)

and after getting a haircut...

ohhh and one more thing...do NOT get a haircut, cos u will regret it later like me

In terms of colouring i can help ya out on this one...

charlies natural hair is a very dark brown alot like mine and urs (his eyebrows give it away). He has a base colour to beign with (which appears to be a very light brown or very dark blonde along with thin light blonde foils all over his head. Notice how his hair is also a darker and less bleach looking blonde that mine, to acheive that u will need a toner of sum sort in ur hair.

For styling...u need to get ur hair layered when its longer, thinned out a bit, and u def need a hair striaghtener to bring out the sides of ur hair n stuff and like nick said..simply use a wax and hairspray to hold. Hope that helped mate and good luck..this hairstyles a pain in the ass lol.

cool thanks for the advice guys, how much more length do u reckon i need?

nick - i seem to have tried every product under the sun as well! i agree that wax sometimes doesnt maintain the shiny textured look so i guess the hairspray would have to be one of those shine enhancing ones. your hair is lookin cool btw

ahh unlucky ecto i know its really tempting to get it cut, u should grow it out again though cos it looked awesome! what product did u use to style it when u had it long?

looking good mate...

bought some new things today,

firstly some new hair straighterners! which have EXTREMELY thin plates..and make it much easier to straighten shorter hair and give it a better effect cause u can straighten it much closer to the root..

also some new wax..by mark hill which apparently loads the hair with shine..hoping it will give the correct effecT!

the general techinique for the hair is;

wash it

condition it

then lightly dry your hair and apply hair serum to weigh it down and give it shine

then apply heat protectant cream to protect it from straightening

hair dry it to bone dry..do not straighten your hair from wet!

straighten it at about 150 degrees - 200.. make sure your straightening it all including the back..

then apply a light wax to give it shine and definition (Mark Hill - Texture defining wax)

then apply a glosser to give it extra shine..

Ok thanks, do you have any tips for the actual straightening part though like do you start with you hair at the back or do you do the under side of your hair first?? do you use a brush?
