Hey guys,

Just wondering who out there has a Tattoo.  Do you love it?  Are you sorry you got it?  What is it and where is it?  I'm thinking I might want one, but it would have to be the perfect thing on the perfect place.

I don't have any yet, but I've had a few ideas for them over the years.  The one I'm most likely to get is a design relating to an alias/author avatar I've had since I was a teen-ager.  I figure if I've been using the name for more than a decade now, it's not going anywhere.  That one should be safe enough to do and not worry about regrets ^_^ .  The other ideas, I'm much less sure about. . . especially the white rose one I'd like for the lower back, which I don't even know how well it would show up on my pale skin.  *wonders*  Ah well, I only liked that one 'cause I drew a pretty pic that had it.  Is that a good enough reason? ! % Aaebade d !, ` . 4``

I have a few, love them all - have never had any regrets, and I've had the oldest for 5 years now.

I'm thinking about getting one when I turn 18 this October. I'd like to get a little fairy on my lower back, but then I'm having second thoughts about it because I'm one of these irritating people who can never make their mind up. I'm a Libra, I'm terribly indecisive.< -, aglap50D < r ".,b2!(, )! ),%$)$! ,`2 4

It's probably better if you can draw your own, or have an original design commissioned.  Flash is not cool-- you could end up with the exact same tattoo as like a hundred other people -_- . ! % Aaebade d !, ` . 4``

Then you should put off getting one until you decide.  This isn't a decision you should make on a whim. ! % Aaebade d !, ` . 4``

I took me a year to deciede on my first and last tattoo. I was born in Colorado and the state flower & bird is the Columbine & Hummingbird. I took the cover off of my mom's journal that she wrote in the year after I was born. I had my tattoo artist/friend change it up a little. I love it and am not sorry I got it. Though when I was getting it I was. Hee hee. I got it on my lower back and it took 3 1/2 hours.

My tattoo artist web site is http://home.neb.rr.com/inkaddiction/.

Make sure you pick a tattoo that means something to you.

That would depend on a lot of things, like whether you have (or anticipate having) a job where you can't have visible tattoos, whether you want to show it off every day or keep it hidden, whether you're worried how it will look to have one in an obvious place when you're 65, etc.

I have 3 tattoo's and I am hoping ofr a fourth. My frist tattoo I got when I was 18 ( I am 1 month shy 22) on my left breast, above my heart of a kitten with blue eyes and the AIDS ribbon  in memory of my grand-father who passed on with a pneumonia related only to AIDS patients. My second, I don't regret, but I can't think of anything to complete it. It's on my right ankel of an 8 point cross...initially I was going to get my siblings and my inititals around it, but I changed my mind, and only have the cross...My third, last, and favorite at the moment, is the one on my right hip of the aquarius sign. MY daughters are both aquarius, i have their initails in between it. my fourth will be when i have my next kid...hoefully in a year or so

I personally don't have any. Never liked them. And now that it has become something that everyone wants to do, I like it even less. However my little sister has two. One on her lower back. Looks sort of like a fire flame. The second one is on her ankle, and it is of her dog (a pitbull she had about 10 years ago) barking at the moon. She had them done when she was 18. She is now 28, and cries all the time about how she is going to save up the money to have them removed. Me and my other sisters are thinking of saving up and surprising her with the money to get them removed. They have alot of color in them so they are going to be expensive to remove. But she has a two year old and she would like to get rid of them before he is old enough to know what they are.

Really think about it before you get one. I also have a couple of friends who want to get rid of theirs. However as I said, it is expensive and it leaves a scar. Your skin is already beautifull on its own (IMO) why mess with a beautifull thing. Besides I saw an old lady who walked into my job one day, and she had a few tatoos on her legs. Let me tell you, they are not attractive at all when your skin is wrinkle and sagging.  So make sure this is what you really want, because you'll be stuck with, or with a scar if you decide you don't want it later.

Hi there,

I have 2 tattoos.  both on my ankles.  One is a boot with a red rose coming out of it, it is on the outside of my right ankle.  I wore cowboy boots when I got married and carried roses, this represents one of the happiest days of my life.I got it about 10 years ago and still love it.  The other one is a ankle wrap of my own design, it is a combination of hearts and roses in bright colors and it wraps all around my ankle.  I got it 4 years ago.  This one is a symbol of my family, the hearts are me and my dh and the roses are my children.  we are a complete circle of beauty and love.  I love my tattoos and would love to get more but they are pricey and just cant make it a priority now.  Maybe one day!!  I think most ppl will agree that love their tats, once you get one, you will want another!  if you decide to get one, make it a personal reason, find something that exhibits you or you feel something when you see it. THe more personal you make it the more you will love it!

HTH,

Donna

I have one tat so far, soon to have more though! I have a cross on my back, its outlined twice and the corners of the middle done connect, in side is the chinese character for LOVE......and I LOVE IT! I designed it myself, its very simple but thats all I wanted. I have had it for 2 years now. I'm going to Vegas this sring and want to get one at Hart & Huntington (carry harts tattoo shop in The Palms Hotel). My boyfriend and I want to get something together so we just have to figure out what. I have always liked the chinese characters and I really like them on the side of the back, I have seen it on a friend and its awesome.

Becareful though if you want one, make sure its something meaningful and something you will like in 20 years. I got mine because I'm religious and love is why we have the cross. Its a deep meaning to me.

You only live once, whats a tattoo really. Its just creating another memory!

I don't have a tattoo and I really want one...Well actually, I'd like to have a few!

I want one on my shoulder blade, and one on my lower back. the reason why I have postponed having them done is because needles scare me to death!

If I could get my tattoos done while unconcsious (like in surgery) then that would be great.

But name ONE hospital that does tattoos I'm gonna have to wait until I get the guts to do it. But does it hurt????!!!!!! What does it feel like?

insatianble-4fun ~ I was scared to death as well. Seriously, I had a million butterflys and wanted to vomit the whole time before he started to tattoo me. I tend to work myself up a bit though so when I do have something done, its not nearly as bad as I thought. And just as I thought, it wasnt as bad, actually it wasnt nearly as bad. It depends where you get it done on your body. I had mine done on my lower back, the only part I didnt like was when it hits the spine...think of it this way, it doesnt hurt, its uncomfortable but not un bareable. Also I was more fasinated at the fact that when it did hit my spine, my legs where shaking a bit, I couldnt control it so I just laughed at it. I tired to focus on something else other than the needles going in my back. I decided to bite my finger and that helped a lot....I found that my finger wa sin more pain than my actual back though. It was only 10 min though for me, but afterwards I totally knew I could do another one. I want another one and hopefully am going to decide on something for this year. Anyways, trust me, the little pain/discomfort you experience is so worth it. Talk to the tattoo artist too, it helps you not focus on the actualy task being done. Thats all the advise I can give you, focus on something else....bring a friend and talk to them, even if your talking about what it feels like, it gets your mind off the pain. Just think of it this way, it only will feel bad for that moment.....afterwards you dont even remember it. I was more scared about getting my nose pierced than my tattoo and I heard horror stories about that...but it was a second of pain and it was done! Just go do it...dont think of the pain!'

Ok I think i'm done with the explaining! Good luck and trust me!

I don't have any right now. But I do want a couple if I can get over the needle thing. I don't want anything big, just a little butterfly or something girly and pathetic like that!  I want it either on my shoulder blade or my ankle. I think  want it more on my shoulder cause I wear a lot of tank tops and I want to show it off! @`d` $%re ,!($b` /.,bb "(%,,%$-!)$%--%$`` '(

Prettybaby,

Trust me, the needle isnt as bad as you think it is. It doesnt hurt, its just a bit uncomfortable for a bit. Depending on where you get it, it will feel different. Mine is on my lower back and I would go back again...i want to add something to it...and I hate needles!!!! It goes by fast and you will love it after!

I like tattoos I have 3, a small rose on my right ankle (ouch!) a black widow on my left thigh and a tribal on my sternum.  I also got my nipples pierced and that hurt something terrible, it made the tattoos feel like tickles.

I got one a few weeks back. It's a red rose, kinda small but I love it. It's on my right ankle, which is pretty dumb I guess when I wear boots nearly all the time . I might get more, but I don't want to look like a walking art gallery or something

Betty Boop is great. I remember having a Betty Boop watch as a kid. It was my favorte accessory for awhile.

I have 2 tattoos. One lies between my shoulder blades and is of a crescent moon and the taurus symbol. My moon is in taurus.

The second tattoo is located on my lower back. It is of a star surrounded by five viking runes. Each rune has a different meaning; truth, psychic wisdom, passion, patience, and beauty. Placing runes around a star is said to invoke those powers/qualities.

I would seriously consider why you are getting a tattoo and what sort of meaning the design has for you, before you jump in and end up with something ridiculous that you will end of hating. Getting a tattoo is a decision that will affect the rest of your life. That being said, think of whether or not your tattoo of choice will still have significant meaning to you when you are 50, 60, 70...etc.

The needles aren't so bad, dare I say I enjoyed it a bit?
