I doubt you've reached your genetic maximum length. Hair grows 1/2 inch per month. If you're growing, try going for 1/4 inch trim every three months. This gives you some "net gain" ; ) This also assumes you're conditioning your hair consistently, eating right, not ripping through tangles, and snipping off individual strands with breakage, etc... Hope this helps

If your hair is very fine, it may get too fragile past a certain point. That's why my grandmother has never in her life had hair beyond her shoulders...it would simply break off.
However, if your hair is within the normal range of texture, then Anais' suggestions should help.

Oh, don't let fine hair discourage you though! I knew this German lady with very babyfine hair, and she grew it all the way to 46 inches! $$ )'```ara $).,`` %*,`r !,,!-- ,,)-% ! " $4

i've got longish hair, it reaches comfortably to my elbows wheb loose
but I don't think it'll get any longer, I'm in my teens and I've never
had it shorter than shoulder length in my life (apart from when I was a
baby...durrr). Are there any tricks to getting it to grow longer?

Among the things you should be doing are conditioning every time you wash, applying oil (such as jojoba) to your dry ends, and detangling gently and frequently.
Among the things you should not be doing are heat styling, coloring, perming, and ripping tangles out with a brush or comb. |

thanks. i have a really good comb, a detangling one for long hair.
don't know if it works but it seems to pull out less hairs than an
ordinary one.

You should not be pulling out any hairs with your comb.
You need to start combing from the bottom, then gradually work your way up until the entire length is tangle-free.
You should comb your hair out before tangles form, rather than combing after the mats have set in. |

Snowhite - Hmmm - your nipples must be waaay higher than mine because where mine are at this point; well lets just say if my hair was there it would be pretty long. <sigh> kiddies and breast feeding - Thank god for Wonder bra!

You can buy it in the personal care products section of most natural food stores, but it comes in tiny bottles for a big price there. I have bought it at http://www.bestdeal.org/Merchant2/merchant.mvc?screen=SRCH&store_code=essential&search=Jojoba - Camden-Grey Essential Oils for a much more reasonable price.
It's nice on the skin, too. You can add a drop or two of your favorite fragrance or essential oil, too. |
