Hi,
One of the full time guys who works at HairBoutique.com - we affectionally call him Mr. Spike, has played with all the spiking products at one time or another. Right now he is totally psyched with the Got2B Glued - Styling Spiking Glue. In fact, yesterday, he was so proud of his perfect hair spikes that he walked around the HB building asking everyone if they wanted to touch the hair spikes. They were amazing spikes I have to admit Very well separated but NOT droopy at all and NOT shiny in any way. Mr. Spike has been with HairBoutique.com for over a year and I personally love that fact that he is always experimenting with the different hair products to change out his look. He went through a phase where he was bleaching his hair with Maniac Panic lightening bleach and then he went through the Got2B and John Frieda gels and styling products. He is currently back with Got2B and raves about the Spiking Glue. Mr. Spike is currently helping me meet with the various reps that come by to see HairBoutique.com to look at new products for men. He is very excited about our new LA Looks line that we are going to be adding soon. Lots of new products for him to test out. :-)
There is only one thing to know about the Got2B Spking Glue other than you can apply just a quarter size to just washed hair to let it dry into spikes. Although it gives really strong holding spikes on ANY type of hair (thin, thick, fine, medium texture, even curly), you can only use the Got2B shampoo to remove the glue. The Squeaky Clean shampoo was specifically developed by Got2B hair chemists to melt the holding chemicals in the Got2B Glue. So you have to use Squeaky Clean. Poor Mr. Spike. When he first used the Spiking Glue, he didn't want to use Squeaky Clean shampoo because he prefers other shampoos but he had a terrible time getting the glue out. Now he has the process down to a science and his hair looks amazing. He compensated for the slightly drying effect of the Squeaky Clean by using the matching conditioner, which restores the moisture.
Another guy who works at HB.com, Oscar, has naturally curly hair and likes a piecy look but not spikes. He actually alternates between the Ken Paves - Paves Professional gel and mousse. He uses them to finger pick his curls to give them definition and hold without flopping around. He is addicted to Paves styling products. He also loves the PhytoPro line for styling products and uses the Phyto shampoos.
One of the great things about having so many guys working at HairBoutique.com is that they are willing to try out the products and give me their honest opinions. Besides Mr. Spike and Oscar we also have Randy and Jeff who both have long ponytails & play with long hair products, Michael who used to do the 360 Waves hair trip, had a short Afro but now has shaved his head for the summer. We also have a guy with super baby fine hair (he uses the Matrix Amplify line) and Jack Raiber who is dealing with some hair loss issues and uses some of the Phyto products for hair loss issues as a result.
I also have a college student - who works part time in the warehouse and he has "Asian hair". Our college guy was born in the US but his mom is Vietnamese and his dad was mixed Chinese and American. So he has that fine yet coarse hair that has a unique bend. He has been testing the John Frieda products and the ICE spiking products. He alternates between a tightly gelled look and a softer look. He also likes LA Looks and Citre Shine gel.
Hope that helps you spikers get some new insight.
Best wishes, KarenShelton HairBoutique.com
