I was just at the supermarket and I saw a girl with her mother. The girl was wearing high heels that had to be between 2 and 3 inches high! They were slides with no ankle support or strap at all!
The girl couldn't have been more than 10 years old.
What is this world coming to? My mom would NEVER have let me wear heels. I think I was 17 when I got my first pair.
When I was that girl's age, I wanted a pair of jelly shoes. All my friends had them. They were just cheap plastic shoes that were semi-transparent and came in purple or teal or pink or other girly colors. My mom wouldn't let me have a pair though. I don't know why. She told me they were bad for your feet, but I'm not sure that was the real reason.

i think some of the heels on girls shoes and some women shoes are ridiculous. the only good thing is my feet are small 5 or 5 1/2. so a girls 3 or 3 1/2 is the same. i've gotton some cute girls sandles. $- P cn`dp0% 00BB .(4`p /.%%%,-!,%!% !, b` -.

Having small girls dress up like grown women is ridiculous! They have these girl beauty contests where girls as young as 4 or 5 wear high heels, makeup, expensive fine jewelry, some of them look the way I looked when I was working at an escort service, except they are little girls not women!!! I would never let my little daughter dress like that!
You remember that poor little girl that was murdered in that wealthy neighborhood in Boulder,Colorado. It made the national news, it was a prominent family. -(some think someone in the family killed the little girl)-. Remember, her parents put her in one of those contests when she was like 4 or 5. She had on a ton of makeup and an expensive fancy looking dress and lots of expensive fine jewelry! How obscene. It was like trying to bait pedophiles or something.
Parents who dress up their girls like that need to be spanked! HARD!!! Or else put in the joint for awhile!!!! 4!,!

oh wow that's crazy. I don't quite understand children's fashions anymore. there's no reason they should dress like grown-ups. those shoes could ruin a child's posture or foot structure.
SuperGrover, my mom said the same thing to me about the jelly shoes! I never got a pair either..

I agree with Tina--it looks ridiculous when very young girls are dressed way older with layers of makeup. Even many grown women look more flattering with natural-looking/light makeup instead of all that caked-on stuff. I saw a young girl at the mall who was wearing a bikini top and a pleather miniskirt...maybe some parents think it's cute to dress their children in little miniature outfits that some grown-ups might wear, but that's just plain weird and quite out of place to me.
To keep on the subject of shoes , like SuperGrover, I really wanted a pair of those jelly-shoes too when I was younger. I got some when I was 6 or so, they were the sparkly clear kind. They probably weren't my most practical shoes of the time (after all, usually parents want their kid's shoes to really last well) but I loved wearing those things whenever I could

Yeah,I think that's ridiculous ,as well. They make thongs and minitaure bras for girls as young as 6-7 years old. It's disturbing what our society has come to.

This is kind of random, but when I was about 7, or 8, I had jelly shoes and they were the coolest thing that a girl could own at the time. That was about 8-9 years ago though..hehe mine were purple
Sorry had to edit..THEY MAKE THONGS FOR YOUNG GIRLS? That's where I draw the line and flip out. I'm 16 years old and yes, I own almost exclusively thongs. My mom hates the idea and says I don't need thongs unless I'm showing them to some guy, which would be another problem. The reason I buy them is to feel sexy and unleash my sexual side, and young girls DO NOT need to be encouraged to become sex kittens. (Oh yea and plz don't bash me for being 16 and having a sexual side lol..hormones..)
I think I'm going to move to a place where the little girls wear Barbie granny panties underwear and everybody goes barefoot. Wow, I'm random.$!!% @a d` p`d - $$ p ",b` /.,,,$% !--, ,! b` $$

That's funny. And yes, they really do make thongs for little girls. It's just disgusting. Even barbie wears thongs, and barbie is generally a children's toy. I'm not against thongs, just against children being exposed to that sort of thing so soon.

Ewww! I don't even think I knew what a thong was until I was in college. I remember seeing my first Victoria's Secret catalog and thinking "Gross!" But then I bought some and found them quite comfortable. And excellent at eliminating panty line in clothing.
And then I saw swimsuits built as thongs and I couldn't believe someone would wear that in public. But sadly, people do. At Disney World, none the less. LOL, we actually had people sunbathing nude at Disney World, too. Foreigners. :)
CrazzzyCait!!! Welcome!! 16 is not too young to wear thongs. I was just naive, that's all. !) ic a p`` -& `b . @p )2 ,-$ ! ! $ -$ ` ,

Thanks for the welcome!!! Yeah, I don't really know, but I tend to think I am much more mature than my peers. It's funny..my Mom lets me buy string thongs (aka floss) no matter how sexy they are, but I'm not allowed to have a black lacy bra. I already have a regular black bra, but I guess the lace automatically makes me a ****.
Haha :) Yeah we get a lot of little kids at my job, and sometimes girls will come in with half shirts or even worse, OPEN back shirts. Then those horribly popular pants+shorts with words like SEXY or HOTTIE or LIFEGUARD written on the butt..well they caught on with the younger crowd and now you can see ANGEL or HELLO KITTY on these little kids' butts. It's awful..$!!% @a d` p`d - $$ p ",b` /.,,,$% !--, ,! b` $$

Ewwww...I hate those pants that have the words written on the butt (like CrazzzyCait said, the ones with stuff like "Princess", "Hottie", "Bootylicious", etc.). Argh! I guess that's included with the fact that I never liked the whole "Princess" and "Hottie" stuff being printed on any article of clothing, anyway. Gee, for a lot of things, what has fashion become these days?
Maybe I'm just uninformed about thongs, but they really do look uncomfortable! Wouldn't they feel like a permanent wedgie when you wear them??

Hi, I've never posted here before, but I saw what the topic was, and just had to slip in something that I dont think has been considered. Like crazzzycait (I'm also named Cait) I am 16. I have always had rather large feet (they're a size 9/10 now, and a bit on the wide side). When I was about 8 or 9 years old, children's shoes stopped fitting me. As a result, I've been wearing women's shoes for about half of my life. And for the most part, yes, my shoes, especially sandals in the summer, did always end up with some kind of heel. Not 3" ones, but I had wide feet and was picky, so my selection was limited. This probably doesn't explain the girl who supergrover saw, but I just wanted to speak for those of us who are curse with large feet. And about the "hottie" shorts, my mother and I always joke we're going to print some with "lard@$$" writtten on the back, as we noticed the people who are calling themselves hot usually are far from it...
