How much growth did you gain within the 6 months. I visited the website, and read a lot of great and miraculous testimonials. However, I was still skeptical, but I purchased a bottle over the weekend. Within the few days of using it, I can tell the biggest difference in my hair. Mainly the texture. It is very full, manageable, and soft now. Good luck

i want to find out whether the Wild Growth hair oil truly works.I WENT TO THE WEBSITE BUT i am still skeptical about it all.

I was skeptical too because the testimonials sounded too good to be true. Believe me girlfriend, when I say this stuff works, I mean this stuff works. I have been using the wild growth hair oil for 5 weeks now. You wouldn`t believe the amount of compliments I get per day from friends and co-workers who have noticed the fast growth of my hair. The most influential comment, comes from my partner though. He has always wanted me to stop cutting my hair. Now that he sees that it is getting longer and longer, he can`t keep his hands out of it. He just says, "whatever you are doing to your hair keep doing it." Before I started using the oil,
(sadly to say) my hair had been over trimmed up to my chin. After 5 weeks, my hair now rest on my shoulders again. I had my hair permed last week, and now here I am again with a head full of new growth. The wild growth company has a customer for life. I will never be without this product again. Do believe, after one use of it, you`ll be a customer for life too. One more thing, you will need no other oil additives on your hair(ex. oil sheens/hair greese). Try it, you will not be disappointed.

Oh yeah, the testimonials are legit. Mine is posted. Word for word. T.G.

I WILL LET YOU KNOW ABOUT THE RESULTS AS THE DAYS GO BY.I WANT MY HAIR TO HAVE A DIFFERENT LENGTH BY aUGUST BECAUSE THAT IS WHEN i plan to get my perm. My hair is on my neck andI WOULD LIKE IT TO BE AT LEAST AT SHOULDER LENGTH.a QUESTION=cAN THIS BE USED with perms????

Posted By: Tileta

Of course it can be used with a perm. I have a perm. It keeps my hair from breaking and shedding from the strong chemicals. Good luck!

Did you have to trim your hair to get the results you got? Is it really necessary to trim your hair to get results?

Posted By: Tileta
Date Posted: Jun 19, 2002 at 7:55am
Many people would argue that you should trim your ends often. However, I have not had my ends trimmed in more than 3 years. My stylist said that she did not recommend me trim my ends because my hair was already healthy. Alot of people tend to think that if you do not get your ends trimmed then your hair would look shabby. Well, my hair looks beautiful. My stylist also said that my hair is in good condition, and it appears to be growing even anyway.

I PLAN TO GET A PERM IN aUGUST AND i am going to get a wrap at that time which would require trimming my hair.It has been about 8 weeks since my last trim and since my hair has gotten stronger from using the oil should I JUST WAIT UNTIL AUGUST OR TRIM NOW?WHAT WOULD YOU RECOMMEND

Posted By: Tileta
Date Posted: Jun 19, 2002 at 12:49pm
It is pretty much up to you if you would like to get your ends trimmed. Because what works for my hair may not work for your hair. I merely do not get my ends clipped. Ask your stylist what she recommends. Good luck

My hair got straighter and shinier instantly.I`m still waiting for some new growth though.Do you know of any product to stop split ends?

Posted By: Tileta
Date Posted: Jun 20, 2002 at 8:57am
Wild growth hair oil will prevent you from having any further split ends. Now whether or not it can correct the already split hair, I do not know. Depending on how severly split your ends are, you may need to get them cut. If the hair is split, it will continue to split going up the hair. Do you have a regular stylist, or do you pretty much do your own hair?

I USUALLY GET MY HAIR DONE FOR SPECIAL OCCASIONS AND THAT IS WHEN i SEE MY STYLIST.i GET WRAPS AND SHE ALWAYS HAS TO TRIM MY HAIR.tHE NEXT TIME I WILL SEE HER WILL BE IN AUGUST AND SHE WILL HAVE TO TRIM MY SPLIT ENDS BUT AFTER AUGUST HPOEFULLY I WON`T HAVE ANY SPLIT ENDS FOR HER TO TRIM.

Are you washing your hair at least once a week? You shouldn`t need any other products on your hair besides the oil. Perhaps, you are over oiling your hair which will lead to buildup on the scalp that can cause itching. You should only have to use the oil 2-3 times a week. I use it twice because my hair keeps its moisture and shine for 3 days. Sometimes four. As my great-grandmother use to say, "When your hair is itching, it means it is growing." My assumption is, the oil is getting the blood circulation going in your scalp which can sometimes cause itching, but promote new hair growth as well. Good Luck

I have decided to let my hair grow out and I just started to use that wild growth hair oil. I love how it makes my hair feel especially when I sleep in my satain scarf at night. But can get really grease if you put to much on. My hair is about 2 inches above my ear because I just cut it all off again. I have never had shoulder length hair, but that is my long to have my hair grow at least to my shoulder, because I have never let it grow beyond the middle of my neck. Does any one have any tips on growing short hair out. I am also taking gnc ultra nourishair, but they are really to big to swallow, I have to cut them in half.

Amie,
I do not know if you are into the braid thing or not, but if you want your hair to grow really fast, I would suggest braids. Check out www.growafrolong.com. I found it to be very informative. I also had braids put in, and they growed my hair very fast too. So check the website out, and continue to use your oil. How long have you been using the oil?

Hi Tileta! The last time I GOT MY PERM WAS ON APRIL 24 OR 25.Since hair is only supposed to grow 1/4 to 1/2 an inch a month I THINK WILD GROWTH HAS HELPED BECAUSE i measured nearly 2 inches of new growth.I HAD TO Trim my ends though which might have taken some length of.Do you think trimming will help my hair grow back more than the length it lost?

Posted By: Amie
Date Posted: Jun 27, 2002 at 7:01am
I have been using it for about a week. I washed my hair, but a little choslteral, hot oil treatment, and then but some wild growth hair oil on my scalp and hair ( I only use 10 drops because my hair is short) and some 911 leave in conditioner and my hair feels great this morning. I sleep in a satin scarf now. I have worn braids before letting my hair grow out and it worked, but then it just broke off again after taking them out. SO my beautican said I shouldn`t get my hair braided any more to just let it grow out. I think I am going to start using that Keracare shampoo, after my current bottle is gone. I have some new growth right now but it is because my last perm didn`t take to well. I will be able to tell after my next perm, how well the oil and gnc vitamins are working on my hair. But foe right now I am happy with the shine and softest of my hair.

Ashley, are you pressing your hair or flat ironing it? If you are not getting a perm, then you should press. As you know our hair tends to grow in a "S" pattern. Like stated before, you shouldn`t need to get your ends clipped unless the hair becomes severly damaged(opinion). If you have gone this long without a perm, I think you could continue to go without one. The natural state is much better for growing the hair out instead of chemicals. Eventually, I hope to grow my perm out and go with the press.

Amie,
I guess you know why your hair is itching. If not, it is because of all the oils you are using. Wild growth hair oil can be used as a hot oil treatment as well; therefore, you can delete the other oil you are using. I do not need any conditioner on my hair. I apply the oil onto my damp hair after a wash, dry it, oil the scalp, and then style. Braids can be used to your advantage if they are cared for correctly. Make sure that the braider knows what he/she is doing. There are so many stylist who loves to braid, but do not take your natural hair into consideration when doing so. The only problem I had with my braids was my edges broke off. With a week of wild growth oil gently massaged into the temples, I could see new hair growing. So I will be going back to the salon very soon to get my hair braided again.

Do you get better result applying the oil to your scalp after your hair was dry? I apply to my scalp and hair while it is still damp. Has your hair every been shaved in the back and do you curl your hair at all?

Posted By: Tileta
Date Posted: Jun 27, 2002 at 12:39pm
I found that if you oil your scalp before drying, the heat sucks the oil out and then you will have to re-oil the scalp. Therefore, I oil the hair before drying. Then the scalp after it is dry. My hair was shaved in the back May of last year. Now it is on my shoulders. I do curl my hair. Only once a week though unless there is a special occassion then I may need to bump it again. After I`ve washed and dried my hair, I tightly curl my hair with large barrel curling irons. Then I wrap the hair. Bumping with the barrels allows my hair to stay in a nice bouncy wrap/bob style for an entire week. I am committed to a no heat policy, except on wash days. As you know, too much heat can damage the hair. I think the main thing that has helped my hair to grow is changing the way I maintenanced my hair along with my wild growth hair oil. Now my hair is a priority. The beauty of my hair has allowed my self-esteem to become even greater. But even moreover, "The men love." I was walking into my office building this morning, and a gentlemen said to me, "Your hair is so beautiful. There is nothing like a black woman with long beautiful hair." I was so flattered.

That is just what I needed to hear. I can`t believe your hair is to your shoulders already. Hope I will still be replying on this message board a year from now talking about how much my hair has grown. See honestly I have never really taken good care of my hair, so I hope that I just keep taking the time out to take care of it because I get tried a lot working, taking care of my household, children, husaband etc. It seems like I never have to time to take care of myself after I had my son. But my hair is going to start being very important to me. Did you let your hair grow out in layers or evenly, and also do you get your hair done by a stylist? i have so many questions hope you don`t mind

Posted By: Tileta
Date Posted: Jun 27, 2002 at 2:52pm
Amie, I do not mind at all. We both are trying to acheive the same thing. I was in the same situation too. I did not take time out for me. One day, I just made up in my mind that I wanted long hair. I knew that I had to make changes within myself first. My inspiration comes from my co-workers, friends, family, and my partner. They all are puzzled and wondering what I am doing to my hair to make it grow in days. I do not tell all of them my secret(wild growth). I like to keep them guessing. One of my friends offered me money to tell her what I was doing to my hair. I went ahead and told her at no charge though. That is what keep me going and not get lazy every 3 days when it is time to oil my hair. Because some days I just do not feel like oiling my hair, but I oil it anyways. I only go to the beautician to get flat twist, braids, or if I want an updo. Other than that I do not let the stylist do anything to my hair that will cause it to be exposed to the air(wrap/bob). It is very much possible to achieve the same things at home that a stylist can do in the salon. For someone that does not get her ends clipped, my hair is growing rather evenly. You know if your hair is uneven and you are trying to wear a wrap or bob, it can look real shabby if it is not even. I guess I am just blessed that all of my hair is growing at one time and not by areas.

i have already had almost 2 new inches of growth but I WOULD LIKE ABOUT 3 MORE INCHES OF NEW GROWTH.i have not pressed my hair or did anything to it except comb and apply the oil.I `M NOT SURE IF it is possible to get that amount of growth by August .What do you think? I CLIPPED MY ENDS BECAUSE THAT IS WHAT MY STYLIST WOULD DO.iF I CANNOT ACHIEVE THAT LENGTH THEN i WOULD WANT TO GET BRAIDS.dO YOU THINK MY HAIR WOULD FALL OF BECAUSE i would not take them out till around december. What do you think?

I think braids would be a good idea, but you would have to make sure you keep them clean and get them re-done often, so they will not damage and break off your hair. It is very much possible to get 3 inches of length by August. Get your braids and continue to use the oil. As far as clipping your ends go, this topic is very opinionated. Some benefit from it and some do not(I don`t).

Ok, when you decided to let your hair growth from when it was shaved in the back, did you let the top grow out gradually, or did you let the back grow out also at the same time. I just want to really make sure my hair is heathly this time. I know that when it gets to a lenght that it is easier for me to rap myself, I will stop going to the salon every week. So you said something about letting air get to your hair. Is air on your air bad or something. I have never heard of that. I am thinking about talking pictures of my hair once a month to document my hair growth, but I don`t understand how people be measuring there new growth. Maybe my hair is just to short to do that. Do you every roll your hair? I think that once my hair get longer. I will start getting it braided again, but my hair broke off in the back when I got it braided in the back when I was letting it grow out.

Posted By: Tileta

Amie, when I had my hair shaved it the back, the top of it was bobbed, and it fell long to the chin. When the back started growing, I would use a small curling iron to flip the back, so it wouldn`t just hang and look messy. You`ve probably seen all the stars now that wear their hair flipped up. Well that is what I did to the shaved area. I continued to style and maintain the top as usual. Air dries out your hair. Especially during the winter time. And of course, when the hair gets dry, it breaks off. That is what I meant by not letting air get to your hair. Many people call this no contact hair styles(ex.buns and ponytails). I do not roll my hair either. I just curl it once a week, and it will last all week. Your hair is not too short to be measured. I take a strand of hair and tape it down to a hard surface and measure with a ruler. As far as braiding goes, it depends on the professionalism that the stylist has. You do not want anyone tugging and pulling on your hair. That is where a lot of people go wrong. They try to find the cheapest bargain, and someone who can give them a quick fix. Then they are mad and upset because their hair fell out. You should be very picky when finding a braider.

Tileta, what kind of braids do you recommend?

Posted By: Tileta

Ashley,
Of course any braids will cause some kind of breakage. It is up to you to make sure you take good care of the braids to minimize that breakage.
I wear microbraids. Like I said before, microbraids caused my edges to break off, but I used the wild growth on the temples and they grew back so fast. So I like never missed my edges. But, don`t get me wrong though, the rest of my hair grew like grass. So I do not let my consciousness get to me about my edges because I know that they will be back in a matter of time.

I AM PLANNING ON GETTING BOX BRAIDS BECAUSE THE LAST TIME I GOT THEM MY HAIR GREW REALLY WELL.My hair did not really break off and if it did not very much.I want to leave them in for about 3 1/2 months and then take them out wash my hair and deep condition and then put them in again while using the wild growth. Iplan on doing this until I ACHIEVE MY DESIRED LENGTH.dO YOU FEEL THIS IS A GOOD PLAN???

Posted By: Tileta
Date Posted: Jul 3, 2002 at 8:02am
Girlfriend, please do not leave the braids in that long. If you didn`t get any breakage last time, you are bound to have some the next time. I would say keep them for 2 months at the most(I could never go that long). Going back into braids that fast will weaken your hair. It is best that you wait at least a month, and use your oil as a hot oil treatment. Then go back into the braids. If you are going to go back into braids as soon as you take them out, I would suggest that you use a leave in conditioner(spray) everyday on your braids and scalp.

My new plan is to get the braids in for about 2 months.Take them out and LEAVE THEM OUT FOR TWO MONTHS WHILE USING THE LeKairs cholesterol on my hair everyweek and using Wildgrowth. Then after having them out for two months .I will put them back in and continue until I HAVE ACHIEVED MY Desired LENGTH

Ashley,
My hair used to break off really bad. So I had to be very particular with the way I handled my hair. Since the first use of the oil, my breakage has almost completely stopped. I went home to Florida this weekend, and girl my entire family was in disbelief of how much my hair has grown and how fast. Girl wild growth hair oil was sent straight from heaven.

I thought a wave cap was something that you use to keep your hair in place or like the skullies that guys sleep in. I am sure a wave cap could hold your wrap. I have tried the wave cap before, but I could never get all of my hair under it, so I just bought an extremely large silk scarf.

Rabia,
I will start by saying this. Please do not follow your friends footsteps and oil your hair everyday. Oiling the hair everyday will do nothing but suffocate your scalp. I oil my scalp 2x`s a week, but I do oil the hair 3x`s. Depending on the length and the thickness of your hair, you may need more or less. I do not think you should cut your hair. Just continue to use your oil until the damaged area grows a little longer, then you can shape that area to accommodate the longer areas. If you do not have a relaxer, then I think you should press your hair. The "S" pattern that a lot of our hair grows in allows the hair to break easier.

Tileta,
I do have relaxed hair, and I was asking if I should press the roots, cause the texture between the new growth and the relaxer is so different that it tends to start breaking by the fourth week of my relaxer. So just go and get a relaxer again, cause my hair grows so fast, I expect it to grow even faster with wild growth. %% Baad`p `a -,,8 b %.$ r $(),,

By your fourth week, you should be ready for another perm. I used to get a perm every 5 weeks, but I had to go to 4 weeks because it was growing so fast and started to shed by then. So try getting your perms every 4 weeks, then you will not need to press unless, your perms are not taking well enough in the first place.

Okay, I just had to share. I received the wild growth oil last Friday. It is light, but goodness!!! That stuff has an odor!!!! It smells like tea with pepper in it. Grief!!!! I only applied the stuff to my scalp, and not the hair, fearing that the odor would be noticed by people when I was outside or wherever. My mother said that it must be good, if it smells like that. The funny part is in the ingredients, they listed "Fragrance."< -, aglap5B@

I`ve been using Wild Growth Hair Oil for about two weeks now. My hair was in braids when I started using it. When I took out the braids this weekend my hair was really soft. Then after I relaxed my hair. I put some in while it was wet. After i took out my rollers my hair was very soft and moisturized and shiny. I put a little more in on sunday night, and now my hair is still moisturized and shiny. The ends feel good too, which is strange for me. This stuff is great. I also used Hask Placenta as a leave in conditioner. No your order, is not the only one that smells mine does too. I put mine on at night and wrap my hair and tie it down . By the morning the smell is gone. I use olive oil sheen spray by Root Stimulator on my hair, it has a good scent. Someone recommended that I add a few drops of lavender oil to cut the smell. As I see it this stuff must be good if so many people are willing to put up with the stench. Its kind of like pure castor, it stinks, but it makes your hair grow like crazy. Use wild growth, I love it thus far. %% Baad`p `a -,,8 b %.$ r $(),,

Thanks for the tip, because the smell really did discourage me. There is this hairspray oil sheen stuff that smells like candy. I think it`s called Black Magic??? Comes in a black and gold can. I might have to pick me up some of that stuff. Also, I may try that Olive Oil spray. Is it good for sheen????< -, aglap5B@

The Root Stimulator Olive Oil Spray, is great for sheen. It leaves hair really shiny and moisturized. It is very light so it doesn`t weigh hair down or make it feel heavy. I am a hair product queen, so I`ve tried a lot of other oil sheens, so far I like this one the best, plus it is made with natural ingredients. Olive oil, is one of the main ingredients in Wild Growth, therefore I consider the spray a good compliment to the oil. Good luck. %% Baad`p `a -,,8 b %.$ r $(),,

Okay, I am starting to get a little discouraged.

I applied the Wild Growth Oil in for the second time and when I woke up this morning, I didn`t smell anything. But when I was out in public, I thought I was smelling something. That`s when I came to the realization that it was my hair. It wasn`t strong, and I don`t know if anyone else smelled it, but I did, and that was enough to make me a little upset and self-conscious. I haven`t gotten the Olive oil spray yet, but I am starting to think that this oil isn`t worth the trouble.

Another problem that I have with the oil is that it dries my scalp out. The first time I applied it, it was itchy. I didn`t find it soothing at all. This time, my scalp is dry. There is still a little teeny bit of the oil on my scalp, which makes me wonder why there was an odor coming from my head in the first place. I didn`t put any on my hair, I just pointed it on my scalp. I do know that some may have touched my hair though.

I am not going to give up though. That would be just a waste of money. I will wait until this bottle is gone before I evaluate it any further. If my hair has grown overwhelmingly, then I may continue using it. If not, I may give that stuff called Doo Gro a try. Has anyone used that?? Does it work?? Does it smell??< -, aglap5B@

Try putting some lavender oil, it will make it smell better. I don`t know why your scalp is dry, try putting more on the scalp. Good Luck. %% Baad`p `a -,,8 b %.$ r $(),,

Karonica:

You may have already stated this but this thread is soooo long I get confused. Maybe you should apply the wildgrowth after you wash when your hair is still wet. That with a leave in will probably work. I don`t know if it will work for sure. I just came back from Sally`s with my new bottle of wildgrowth and am going to try it tonight. If it works I will let you know. Also I was reading somewhere where someone added a bit of light fragrance oil from the Vitamin Shop to their wildgrowh and it worked perfectly.

Hi Everybody,

I read all the posts about Wild Growth and Doo Gro.. I have used Doo Gro with immense results.. I had a small bald spot and some thinning edges and I used Doo Gro Mega Thick Formula and it grew back my hair within a month.... So yes, Doo Gro does work, well at least for me it did.

Now to Wild Growth, I only been using it for a week and I have braids in my hair and my hair has started to grow out... It has my hair texture looking so soft and smooth.. Just before I put my braids in I washed my hair, dried it and apply some Wild Growth and it really smoothed out the kinks. I'm transitioning to natural hair so my two textures are clashing...

Wild Growth really doesn't smell all the great but I like how my hair feels and I'll continue to use it to the end of the bottle to see if I get that massive hair growth as those testimonials mentioned....

Hi everyone!
It sounds like this WGO really works well!  I am currently using MTG, have been for using it for 1 week today.  I have decided to apply it every time I wash/co wash.  I have been lazy this past week so I haven't done much, but I did do a protein treatment last night so I applied more MTG.  I am excited to see how much growth I achieve and I wonder how it will compare to the growth others have received with WGO.  I am currently 16 weeks post relaxer and I want to take it to at least 6 months if possible.. that will be in March.  Well, just figured I'd drop this line in and hep keep this wonderful post going!

Hi there,

I hope you don't mind me posting on this site because I am not African American.  I was just wondering if any one knows if the wild growth oil will work on caucasian hair?  It sounds like a dream come true!  I bought some at Sallys and haven't opened it yet.  The sales girl didn't have anything good to say about it, but she said that it might work for my hair texture too (fine and straight).  What do you think?  Thanks so much for your help!

I would say go for it but use it very sparingly.

African american hair is very dry and does not hold moisture very well

One reason we wash our hair less often than other races is because our scalp produces less of the natural oils (sebum) that protects and lubricates the hair. Overwashing will strip what little we have. Also because of the tight curl pattern of our hair it hold less moisture making it very dry. this is why we put oils and products in our hair. Our hair will absorb oils more readily. You might want to try mixing the a small amount of the oil with a bottle of Infusium 23 (leave in treatment with good vitamins for the hair) which you can buy in any chain store. This way you wont clog up the pores on your head.

Hair is hair, so I don't see why it wouldn't work for you. Good luck

Be careful with it though, too much of it on will cause your scalp to burn. I used it twice a day.  I also tried and loved the shampoo and Deep Condintioner. I thought it worked better than the ORS brand.

Hi everyone,
New to this forum, so I am hoping someone can help me with my problem. I am a 23 yr old male with a Croatian background from Australia. I had a very bad sporting injury that made me stress so bad that my hair has thinned very bad. I have had to shave it to .5.. Just wondering if Wild Growth could help for me? Or are there any other products that could help?
Thank you ...

Hi Pauly P,

Anyone of any ethnicity can use it( male, female, young, old). As for results, every person is different so don't expect anything.

Make sure you are eating a healthy diet and find possitive ways to deal with stress.

I know someone who has had good results with the product concerning their thinning hair.

good luck.

WGO says on the bottle that it can be used on all hair types, the only difference is you use less if your hair is fine and more if your hair is thick.
