When you measure your hair (either in inches or just saying okay, it's BSL, waist lenght, etc.), do you measure when it's wet or dry? With curly hair measuring wet would tell you how long it *really* is, but when I do I also kinda feel like I'm cheating a little so I the measurement that I tell people is usually when it's dry. How about everyone else?

Well, I don't have really curly hair, just a slight wave, but when I measure my hair, I do pull it straight a bit. It's like measuring with wet hair I suppose, since it's straight. It's just easier for me to keep track that way, since when the hair is wavy it can curl this way and that, making it harder to figure out the end point.

When I posted the reply my hair wasn't as long as it is now. If I try to measure my hair now, it's hard to straighten it gently with my hands, and still measure it accurately.
So now I'm just measuring it when it's dry, and not try to straighten it out. I agree with wheeler that it is a dilemma between the *real* length and the length people will actually see (like how far the hair lies down the back). Plus, my measuring numbers are off, since now my length seems to be stalled, when reality, I'm comparing measurements that were taken differently.
