BlondeQt, can you show us a picture of the hair style you were talking about? It does sound like it would be cute, but I didn`t understand the last part.
Is your hair supposed to be put up, 1/2 up, or down?

I have thick-ish auburn hair down to my waist, and it can be curly or wavy. Here's how.
1.) I only brush my hair in the shower when it has conditioner in it.
2.) I use Aussie Moist shampoo and conditioner and Aussie Catch the Wave mousse and Sprunch spray. It makes my hair super soft and springy.
For wavy: 1.) I wash and condition, brushing out my hair while wet. 2.) I squeeze the water from my hair with a towel-- DON'T RUB 3.) I flip my hair back and forth to separate strands. 4.) I finger-comb mousse through my hair. 5.) I dry my roots with a hair dryer on low setting, and let the rest air dry, scrunching occasionally. 6.) Finish with Aussie Shine spray.
For curly: follow steps 1-4 5.) use a hair dryer with diffuser attachment with head flipped over, piling hair in the diffuser and scrunching slightly. 6.) when hair is almost dry, spray with scrunch spray and finger scrunch lightly.
style by pulling a small chunk of hair away from face on each side and pinning loosely separately near the back of head.

Hey I'm new here.....but you have to check out a 3-in-1 Curling Iron, with 3 different size curling scope attachments! I am in heaven. I tossed out the 4 cheap curling irons i had before that and now just use this one. My friend bought a wet-2-dry straightener/flat iron and she is in love. I also have a cordless hair straightener, very light and small enough to fit in a clutch purse! I am addicted to styling my hair different ways. I think i just found my new favorite brand.Administrator2009-09-05 20:46:25

one easy way would be to wash your hair at night, and comb it out in the shower with conditioner. When you get out of the shower, squeeze your hair dry with a towel-- don't rub-- until it's damp, not dripping. Mix a medium-hold gel in your hand with a drop of water and finger comb it through your hair. Braid your hair, and let it dry while you sleep. When you unbraid it, put a little gel on your hands and lightly touch your ends. This will keep them from getting frizzy.
To style, wear it down. One one side, pick out a few strands in the front and pull them back to about halfway to the back of your head, then move the strands forward so that you get a very small pouf. Secure with a cute clip and let some loose strands hang down.
hope this was helpful =]

I am a Type 3 a curly and i think you need to check out

for ideas on how to do you hair, and better care for it.
I wouldn't suggest just getting it cut unless you need a trim, curly hair is totally differnt from straight to wavey hair.

I don't know if you'd be ready for a big change, but I have super curly hair and I just decided to chop it off. It was a big decision and I had a major conversation with another curly haired friend beforehand, but I love the results. I've definitely got more bounce to my hair. I'm thinking I might even try my hand at cutting it myself next time. Salon Hive has some great shears and I'm starting to feel more adventurous. It does grow back after all!

There is this girl in LA i go to, her name is Rebecca Oranges. Lives in Vegas but comes out 3 days a month to LA. She is amazing and does Brazilian blowouts. I can leave my hair wet out of the shower and my curls are smooth, soft and not frizzy. google Brazilian blowouts to get some more info but if you decide to get it done, anyone in LA or Vegas, go to Rebecca oranges: beyondthehair@gmail.com
Good Luck!!

I have the SAME type of hair. You need to go to your favorite salon (Mine is The Ohio Academy, a Paul Mitchell School) and talk to the stylist about what you want your hair to do. I bet you just need a different cut and you will love it!

You want a pomade that won't make the hair look wet and weigh it down like mousse.
I have two suggestions. I like No Frizz Curl Definer

A classic updo is the perfect way to add an elegant touch for your formal occasion, whether it be a wedding or prom or a special event.
No matter what your face shape, you can find an updo to suit your face. A long, narrow shaped face may benefit from a few face-framing tendrils of hair to soften the look.

I get good results when I use mousse, putty, and a root lifter. Scrunch your hair and blow dry with a diffuser. To touch up later, spray a small amount of water or hairspray in your hair and scrunch. When I feel like spending more time on my hair, I straighten it (just enough to get rid of some of the fuzz and curls) and then use curlers. I know...it seems silly to straighten your hair if you want curls, but this gives me the most beautiful results!
