ok, i have been thinkin for a while of straightenin my hair...... so... if i did... with a hair straightener...

WHAT would i apply to my hair? because i remember i used to straighten my hair when it was permed curly..but i never knew anythin about applyin a product before u straighten ur hair..and so after about 2 months of straightening daily..as u can imaigne... my hair was so damaged...and coarse... so i dont want that to happen again!

SO
i wanted to know, if ur hair is frizzy and coarse to start with (partially) would it end up frizzy and more damaged after u straighten it?
also, WHAT kinda/WHICH prducts do u apply to avoid damage to ur hair?

AND how do u straighten? would i have to blowdry first and then straighten bits...or could i just straighten without the use of a hairdryer at all?

also, what kind of products do u apply AFTER uve straightened? to calm down any frizziness etc?

hiya Liz,
trying to post a reply on here is real hard but here goes,3rd time lucky,
you can straighten your hair using the ceramic iron made by ghd( good hair day)
They are amazing.
They do not damage as much as normal metal irons.
Cost about 90 pounds.
search the net for more info + reviews.
do u live in east london as there are several shops selling them there.

Hurray ,it worked,
Well sorry it was so short but i have tried to post to you for 2 days running spent ages writing an essay then losing it arggghhhh.
I tried them on my hair last week .My hair is very curly and frizzy( did u see my homepage piccy of my hair type) and they got my hair dead straight, in 45 mins.Usaully takes me 3 hours to blow dry and even then it has to be chemically relaxed 1st to get it straight.I haven`t chemically relaxed for 3 years now so my hair is very curly.
Btw i agree it would be great if we could post pics on here.On the aimoo board there is an icon for posting images and it is great. %! S ```d `d - $, ` .$

cool...yeah ive heard ceramic straightenin irons are better for ur hair..but where do u buy them from?

no....i live in west midlands...birmingham area.... all u see round here is boots...they sell them but theyre not ceramic...and also argos/index does them innit? but theyre all non-ceramic....well, they were last time i had a look anywayz....might have changed since then lol

n yeah i did see ur hair type.... if u got hair like that u must have georgious curly hair! so the ceramic straightenin irons are really good then?

Try Rackams in town or if they do not some hairdressers do them too.
The other place that might sell them is a hairdressers supplier.ask your local hairdresser where they get their supplies from and they might be able to tell u. You normally have to be trade to buy there but if you go in tell them u work for a salon or thet you are starting up your own freelace bussiness ,thats if they even ask you.
good luck hope you find them. %! S ```d `d - $, ` .$

Ryan, I`m sorry that that happened to you. But I really believe that straightening your hair won`t make your hair fall out. I staighten my hair and it is sooooooo long and healthy. My goal is classic length and I`m almost there. So the staight iron did`nt ruin mine.

Nope it will not, not unless you straighten alot. I only straighten mine a few days in a week or less. Just don`t do it everyday and you`ll be fine.

i used to iron my hair for a full year and its so split and broken now i use a straightner but i really want to perminetly straighten it becasue its wavy/frizzy/ and gross and does anyone have any tips on what i can do to make it perminetly straight, my friend got hers with chemicals but it didn`t work and its still curly, maybe it was just the place she got it at.. or can you tell me how to blow dry?? !), R(

the best thing to do is get a yuko system, or relax your hair.... then blowdry...

basically, all u do is put a heat protecter in ur hair while its wet, section off, take a little section at a time and pull while directing the heat of the blowdrier on ur hair. :),!-- )%,!$% % (,"0"2):B` * ( ,)
