OK... perhaps the topic of clothing for job interviewing is a well-beat dead horse around here...
but... NAAAAAH!

I really like this suit:

Shoot that link is going to streeeeeetch the window. Sah-wee!

Anyway. I love it in white.
But that's not a practical purchase, right? Cuz I couldn't wear a white
suit to an interview in November or January. Or could I? What do you think?

It does come in other colors. I think brown is too drab. I already have
2 suits that I think are too drab. One brown, one olive. I feel like I need
a suit wardrobe with more pop to make me stand out, not seem dowdy, boring.
The red is nice. Can you wear red to an interview? Naaah... that's too skanky, right? Or is it? I need help!

Heheh If I could only get my hair to blow back like that model's... then I'd
make quite an impression and get the job for sure.

Normally I would try to talk you down from a white suit; however, it's pinstriped and it's ivory, which could work for more seasons outside of summer. Personally, I feel that the prohibitions against white in winter and black in summer are pure bunk and we should wear colors based upon their compatibility with our skin tones.

The black isn't bad, although many people at my office think its too somber a color for interviews. Red probably would be a little too much (my beautiful Ann Taylor red suit is awesome...but I wore it to court once and felt a little too vixen-ish once I got in there.)

I didn't realize Vicky's had so much suits to choose from. Great prices too! If you are serious about finding a great suit and can afford a somewhat expensive one, check out jcrew.com... As much as I swore I'd never wear that preppy junk in high school, I am really taken with their suits now. They carry tall suit jackets and pants!

Here's a somewhat helpful article on suit colors:

SG, the suit is lovely and since you're in a creative field, it's not necessarily taboo to wear white or ivory.

However, my personal feeling is that it's wise to err on the side of conservative when you are seeking employment. Better to play the game and get the job, THEN wear whatever you want later on. Just my opinion.

Thanks guys! It's a puzzlement. I do feel like the suits I have already are too conservative. I feel the need to have a suit with a little more 'pop' to it. But not too much, obviously. Don't want to look like a circus clown.

I have a hunch that I'd feel awkward wearing that white suit in fall or winter... Hmmmm.

Oh, I have checked out J Crew... those are nice, but not quite what I have in mind. Need more pop than that. Maybe I can get to the mall this weekend. Ug. Mall prices. !) ic a p`` -& `b . @p )2 ,-$ ! ! $ -$ ` ,

The Limited has some really nice suits on sale right now...I found a black/white pinstripe for 70 percent off...unfortunately it didn't come in tall and looked ridiculous!

I bought an absolutely stunning suit at the Jones of NY outlet a few weeks ago. It's navy, but the jacket is collarless with a zipper instead of buttons, and that's just enough deviation from the norm to make it interesting and less stuffy.

Even though it's a petite, the pants are still too long (grrr) so I bought some nice high heels to go with it.

SG, have you been to Woodbury Commons? It might be an hour drive for you, but it's oh so worth it, just for Jones and Kasper alone! Not to mention Coach. Be still my wallet!

I've heard of that. Where is that? We have outlet malls here, but I've never been. I guess I should. !) ic a p`` -& `b . @p )2 ,-$ ! ! $ -$ ` ,

It's on the other side of the Hudson, in Orange County NY, close to the NYS thruway. I made my first trip there about 13 years ago, back when I lived somewhat close to where I imagine you are (I lived in S. Salem then). It wasn't a bad trip from where I was.

Designer outlets ROCK. The clothes are not dirt cheap, but the prices are good for the labels.

Happy shopping

SG.

I think that is a very cool and classy white suit. Whether it is right for a job interview? depends upon the job.

If you feel the suit is TOO much white, add a dark colored-(maybe navy blue or black)- chiffon or silk neckscarf, just for a little contrast and something other than just bright white in color.4!,!

Hmmm. That's a good idea, a navy scarf or shell. I may look a little 'The Love Boat' though.

I can't wait to go shopping! !) ic a p`` -& `b . @p )2 ,-$ ! ! $ -$ ` ,

It depends how you wear your scarf and what style of scarf you choose.

LOL Everyone knows The Love Boat. It's one of those major mistakes of mankind that future generations will have to deal with. You know, oil spills, nuclear power, The Love Boat.

Here, why don't I wear THIS suit to my next interview? ROTFL

One look at that suit and it's...Hello Goldmember!

At least it's reasonably priced for D&G.

Goldmember is right! -(tee hee hee!)-. As Austin Powers would say, "Awful, bloody awful! I would never "shag" a woman who would wear such a ghastly, shiny thing!"4!,!

But that gold suit wouldn't help Austin's "mojo" any!4!,!

Nice suit Super Grover. I like the white pinstripe look.
I do have to agree with the article Lyris posted though. Better conservative, at least in the business world.
I like your idea of wearing a nice fashion scarf Tina. I often do that. It really adds to the femininty of your look without being too flasy. It is a good addition.,

Thanks! I think I would get it, except I just got a job without having to really interview at all! Score. !) ic a p`` -& `b . @p )2 ,-$ ! ! $ -$ ` ,
