how about some decent high-street brands (for a student. haha) which will make my hair look good? its down to my eyes on the front and over my ears on the sides (flick out abit at the sides) normally i just stick a hat on after washing it so it stays flat and looks alright. then it starts to go downhill after about 12 hours n starts to look sh1t. help! maybe its just my age u reckon? im 16...so maybe that has sometime to do with it? |

Some of my favs are, for jsut everyday, to keep it lookin good for longer than an hour I love salon selectives feel'n'control gel!!! for spikes theres um stiff $@&! hair glue and u can use salon selectives wax, u can also use that on wings!!! Hey somedude!!! u know whats really hot right now, shagy hair, and I think it would probably look great on u!!!! If u get it cut (possibly with a razzer) u can put in long bangs and have ur hair just passed ur ears, then u can leave it shaggy, blow it straight or put in wings (very hot)!!! | OK sumedude, if u want to keep growing your hair out and want to leave it the same length but want bang I would suggest to get it razered about two inches down your forhead and slope it getting longer and longer as u go down till it is the same length as the rest of your hair, this should look really good and sexy, and takes some of the one length look away which isn't all that atractive on guys!!!! hope this helps < - A(f,`p40` ,,$`p ) 0`` # ! % -%!,$ $- ` ". |

| Last year I grew my hair out for probaly 4 months. I usually have it really short on the sides ( buzzed ) and bout an inch and a half on top so I can put a little gel and push it down. but as I grew it out, towards the end of that period my hair was getting longer but also VERY THICK!! and I had to buy a new hat bcuz the size I orignally wore was way too small... so my head got BIGGER!!?!?! WATSUPWITDAT?!?! When I was a kid my hair was longer and it was really soft and thin and it just fell over my head and parted down the middle. So I think if I was to grow it back out it'd do the same... but I was wondering if you could tell me is there a way I could make it grow out and be a little wavy, (not as thick as last year), flip out... and I want it probally a little by my ears. Last year when I wore my cap... my hair would go around my ear and flip out sum... so WEAR A HAT A LOT AFTER SHOWERS?!?!?! Hey Brett howsit going!! K there r diffrent types of coloring there are highlight which are small and can be put anywhere as lil as as many as u want, there r streaks which u mentioned which are thicker then highlights, then theres chunks which r the thickest, In my opinion highlights look best on guys, cuz streaks and chunks r a little to thick but it depends on what ur into!!!! I think that they would look good either way but ur best bet is to go with highlights, and pick a color from medium brown to dirty blonde, really light blonde will look crappy< - A(f,`p40` ,,$`p ) 0`` # ! % -%!,$ $- ` ". |

Hey Jeff sup? anyways Hair usually gets thicker when u grow it out is natural, and when ur young ur hair will be alot thiner, I Have wavy thick hair now and when I was a kid it was baby fine and straight. If u wanna grow it out and keep it thin ask for it to be thinned when u get it cut, this will keep it managable and lookin good. And if u wanna do flips or wings or w/e u wanna call them u can take a round brush and a blowdryer to towled dry hair (o first work a gel or moose threw ur hair) then bring the brush fallowed by the dryer down and flipping ends up, add a little waz to the ends to keep them up!!! Hey there, spiking is very hot right now and you have just the perfect length to do it, and its also one of the easiest styles to do, all you need is some strong hold gel or wax!!!! remeber a little goes along ways and just play around with ur hair, try mohawks or other styles when ur feeling wild also u can get temporary hair sprays and frost your hair with it!!!!  have fun< - A(f,`p40` ,,$`p ) 0`` # ! % -%!,$ $- ` ".

Hey everyone srry I haven't been on for awhile my computer died!!! but anyways heres my replys- bludbruther- u can make liberty spikes by getting a hard wax or gel (or glue) and apply it to 70% dry hair. Use the product and your fingure tips to prop your hair up, when it sits by itself spray it with a hard hold hairspray. hey Flames, curly hair iss a s easy to spike as straight, but u might wanna switch to wax instead of dippidy doo (hate the stuff personally) really squeaze your fingures and the gel together and if its curlin try to make smaller spikes, when there stayin by themsaelves spray with strong hold hairspray < - A(f,`p40` ,,$`p ) 0`` # ! % -%!,$ $- ` ".

Hey, thats actually kinda weird because usually when thick wavy hair is cut it becomes thick curly hair. U said u wanted a shag style, and I am guessing you want one with wavy hair, now you could get a cute and try to coax your hair to wave with moose, blowdryer (or even curler) or u could pick a shag style for straight hair. But what I would do is pick one that doesn't matter if its wavy or straight, then if u want it wavy, u can have it that way, but it wount look stupid if u have no time to do anything to it!!! My hair is very 'big' on top, but I want my whole hair to be sort of long around the sides and front, and straight. How do I get it? How do I grow my hair without it being huge on top? also my hair is sort of dark blonde but I want some blonde highlights in it. | Hey i'm a 22/m, and i'm looking to do something different with my hair. It's almost an inch long on the top and I keep it pretty short on the sides and back. Its a dark brown color although when I look at it in the mirror its not a harsh dark or black, sorta past medium brown, but closer to dark brown kinda. I've been trying to think up something different, but havent been able to get any ideas. I gel it up sometimes, but what are some other ideas; style and color wise? |

| hey jb, I think one of ur problems is that ur hairs to short, and ull hafta let it grow out first, u can use wax to get it textured like the hairstyle pic, or if u grow it out more than that u can make it shaggy by using moose or foam and scrunching (scrunching your hair in your fist after putting moose in). to get the spikes nice and high u can use your fingures with a lil wax, and press into the hair when until they stand up like u want, take larger sections too so it doesn't look as all over spiky!!! for both u can set it with hairsrpay!!! l8r< - A(f,`p40` ,,$`p ) 0`` # ! % -%!,$ $- ` ". |

Looking for a few opinions. I'm a 20yr old caucasian male. Straight hair and I spike it on a regular basis as you can see in http://www.onceuponalifetime.net/Boy's%20Video/14.jpg - this picture. | hey unknown (welcome to the site by the way) every persons hair differs to wat kinda stuff it likes, I say experiment, and read lables, for shampoo and conditioner u said that u have thick hair so try a straightening shampoo and a moisterizing conditiner (that was an example) test stuff out, u may find that u like panteen shampoo and outrageous conditioner (when u see best reasults with the same brand stuff, there tryin to get u to buy there stuff, it's not actually true) also, once u found a shampoo and conditioner u really like, stick with it, after a few months u may see that ir hair isn't liking it anymore, just switch to a diffrent S&C for a bit, then switch back, it'll work again!!! as for gels and stuff, depends on wat u wanna do, u wanna tame wet hair for later, use gel (not sport gel either) u wanna spike it or so something funky, use wax or palmade, if u want shaggy hair or voulume use foam etc. feel free to post again if u have anymore ?'s < - A(f,`p40` ,,$`p ) 0`` # ! % -%!,$ $- ` ". |

Yo. I have 1.5 - 2.0 inch wavy hair. I wanna run single hair down my forhead off the sides coz i think it's sexy. The problem is, the hair curls immediately after I do that... Will gel help? I have hair and sideburns like on that pic and I actually look quite similar to that guy, only lots younger.  Here, can you see the things he has? I wanna make those single strings stay on my forehead like that all the time. | Hi wild rose I was just wondering if you could give me some advice i am thinking about getting foil highlight / blonde foils added to my hair . I feel dead shy as i am a scottish guy I currently have blonde highlights but with the cap method . The reason why i am thinking about going from cap to foil is because i suffer from headaches when hair is pulled through the cap . | Hey Del, yup I can help u out, u need wax for that stryle, u can put a lil on ur finger and kinda twist the sections u want on ur forehead down till u get the effect u want, u can rub a lil more through ur hair to get that spikey look, and they spray the hair with hairsrpay and let it dry. Hey Dan, dont worry, theres never a dead end, there are tons of haircuts u havent tryed believe me. I was thinkin of like a medium short cut, bout 2 1/2 in. strands, since u said that u have glasses, I was thinkin like short side burns, which makes grasses look hot instead of nerdy!!! I wish i had a pic cuz its hard to explain wat i mean. anyway the cuts about 2 1/2 in. in the front and gradually gets longer in the back, going till about the nape of the neck. This style would look good on dark brown or balck hair (which i am guessin is ur natural color) but u will hafta go natural to match the side burns. let me know if u would want something like this!! They are really good and pretty cheep to, they last a long time 2. Hey Nightslasher and Del Piero. A straighting iron cost anywhere from $12-30, and can be bought at any wal-mart. To get really superstraight hair do this. (1) devide your absolutly dry hair into inch thick sections. (2)clip all your other hair out of the way (3) run the hot iron over the section slowly, see wat the result is and repeat till hair is perfectly straight (4)repeat until all sections are done (5) let out all clips letting the hair down (6) go over any spots that where missed or didn't take only straighten ur hair 1-2 times a month or else it is to damaging. | heyy. im 14. and i had my hair short. then i grew it out to 2 inches and spiked it. now im growing it out some more. and if i pull it tought its down bellow my eyes. but if i let it hang its by my eye broows(bangs) i dont know whether i should grow it. its starting to flip out a bit. my friend said i should get layers w/e that is. can i grow it shaggy with out getting layers. or will it turn into a mullet. ill try to get a pic soon so you can decide what i should do. but my hair is semi thick. and wavy. should i grow it. and how do i make it look like surfer shaggy look |

Ok um im 13 and my hair is really messed up! It is like an inch long. When i get out of the shower and let it dry naturally, towel dry, anything it comes out to be like an afro but its so short. Please ho can i make it flat without gel.

| hey sk8r boy, seems like the surfer shaggy look is the hottest thing right now, if u want to try growing out your hair go for it, the good thing about growing is as soon as you dont like it u can cut it. u dont probably need layers or anything but one thing you might want is to get your hair thined (a stylist takes out extra balk in your hair with a razor, I use the teqnique all the time with my hair and u can never notice any shorter hair or anything, it just makes your hair behave) use a little bit of mouse in wet hair and scrunch your hair a little to activate your natural wave. | Hey bobson, thats an awesome hairstyle, I'v gotten lots from comics and superheros (SERIOUSLY) lol, anyways, with straight hair this style would be realativly easy to do, u will need your hair cut to like a 2 1/2-3 1/2 in lenght, the color is bleech blonde and you would need super stong hold gel or wax, or hairglue and stong hold arasol hairspray to make the spikes(I recomend the glue) the spikes are liberty type spikes that are about 2-3 in wide, take large dry sections and Pull them up with the glue till they no longer move, then dose in hairspray, repeat for entire head. Hey Bruha, I think that you sould keep your hairstyle similar to the way it is now, except get your hairstylist to maybe cut it to about an inch or and inch and a half in the very front and spike it up and then get your hairstylist to blend it down in the back. hey pavlos, Adam Brody's hair is naturally curly, but ur in luck, the curls aren't all that tight, if u have wavy hair that is already similair the trick would be to copy the style of the cut, by getting ur hair dresser to cut it like a pic of Adam. hey malibu, I know exactly what ur talkin about, cuz hell, i do this to my hair all the time. this is the kind of hair style that is soooooooooo easy to do, and it doesn't matter if u have curly hair or straight hair it still works. You can also do it on wet or dry hair, tho I will give u directions with wet or damp hair. (1) Take ur damp hair and use a "controling" gel (u can try salon selectives straighting gel, or garnier works well too) to work over all the parts of ur hair, and then comb it through. (2) Take out a two even sections of hair for bangs, ( u can get creative in this part, for more of a bad girl look u can zig zag the top of ur hair and leave the end part of the zig zag out on one side, or anything else u want). (3) Once u have the bags out take the rest of your hair back as if u where going to put in a pony tail (If u want ur part to show pull it back and leave that oart on top) or brush the top of your hair back. (4) The height of the hair is the tricky part, depending on ur hair length, if u have only medium hair pull it as high as u can so that you have enough left sticking out in the back, if u have longer hair, go lower on ur scalp so that u dont have as much sticking up. (5) ok now that u got that all straightened out, pull the hair to the back of ur head, tight and free of any lumps or anything in the hair, then set to w/e length u want it (in the begining u might want to use a thin elastic to hold it in place) twist the hair around and up, for shorter hair twist once, for longer, two or three times, then fan out the top and use pins or clips, whichever u prefur to secure it at the top. (6) now either curl, or spike the top remaining hair with the same hair gel used ealier, u can spray with hairspray to hold, but u dont have to. Suggestions- For the style I said earlier, the bad girl zig zag, if u have curly or wavy hair, straighen the thick bang left out and spike the back tips up. For a girlier style, leave thin sections in the front of the hair, and a few small sections hear and there, before securing take two or four small sectiond of hair and twist them to the back securing with the rest of the hair. The with the remaining hair ether leave curly if u have naturaly curly hair or take a 1/4 in. curling iron and curl the back, then take it and curl the sections of bangs and other sections pulled out of the hair (the extra sections also soften the look). I did this style to one of my friends hair for prom and then i used silver glitter hairspray to finish, she loved it and got compliments all night!!!! hey HZ, thats a good question, if ur hair has seriously tight curls, gel, mouse even palmade would pretty much be useless!!! You would need to heat straighten it with a ceramic straighting iron, then use a wax or pomade to style. Though, dont start straighting ur hair everyday because it will cause serious damage. If you are wanting a straight style everyday anyways tho, a good idea would be permenently straighting your hair with a chemical hair straightner (have a salon do it), or if u cant afford that u can also get home kits at certain stores!!! hey wild rose. thanks for doing this. Here is my 'problem'. I have ALMOST eyebrow length hair. It is fairly straight. actually really straight when my hair is SHORT. but i wanna try something new. Growing it longER. Hey HZ, if your hairs really short, it probably would be a resonable price since theres not a whole lot that you would have to do, but it all depends on where u get it, permenent straight is perment, the thing is that u will have to keep restraightning your roots, but that shouldn't be to much money either. The at home kits are anywhere from $7-$20, in salon would probably be about $30+ but like i said it would depend on where u get it done. Also you may not even need a straighninh iron. Try getting some controling or straighting cream or product, running it evenly through damp hair and blow drying straight (holding the blowdryer down the hair shaft) with a round brush. Hey Young Em!!! Eminems hair totally rocks! Thats a fact. To get Em's drastic blonde you will need to get the color completely bleeched out (at a salon)!! The best idea to convice your mom is get her involved, Tell her that if its to much of a shock you can easily get it dyed back, take her with you to book the appointment and tell her she's welcome to come, it'll make her feel like she can trust you and probably pretty cool that you want her to be part of it (giving her those wonderful warm, pink and fuzzies) hell if that works she may even pay!!!! hey punkerz cool name by the way! Hair has that lovely way of doing that, being oh so straight when short, but then having slight rebelous streaks when its growing out, hair has the natural want to flip, curl, go flat, pretty much do anything but what u want it to do! But thats why there are hairstylist in the world of today, and also all those lovely, yet slightly confusing products on the shelves. So here my question for you, have u tried products yet? Products such a straightning serum or a light way may help coax your hair to stay right where you want it!! I would try that first, either use the straighting serum on damp hair, comb it out straight and let it air dry and then when dry use a small amount of wax on any tough spots left.
