My wife went for a trim last weekend to a new stylist and definitely didn't get what she wanted. Kathy has been keeping her hair short for some time now, a #3 buzz on the sides and back, and about an inch long on top. Our regular stylist moved away so now we are forced to find someone new. Kathy told the new stylist what she wanted, and she replied"You really don't want to go that short" and proceeded to only trim off about a quarter inch. I suggested that maybe we try a barbershop, but Kathy is skeptical, she doesn't want to look too butch. Any suggestions?

You could buy clipper and do it yourself. Go to the barbershop. You need to find a babershop that have female working at them.
where are you from?
