My goal is three inches past where it is in that picture, which I took this morning. I don't want uber-long hair, just the length I had two years ago. Contrast today's picture with the length before I began growing it last winter:

Your hair looks beautiful. Are the red undertones natural?

As Gord said, it looked lovely shorter also. Good luck in achieving your growth goals. I am sure you will be there before springtime.

Lyris.....FABULOUS!! Your hair looks to be in wonderful condition and the red highlights are terrific. If you were a stylist, you would put others out of business just by walking around. GOOD FOR YOU!!

Thanks Hal, my hair grew fairly fast I think. I need a trim though, I have some split ends.

Looking beautiful, Lyris. How much growth do you have every month?

Hi Lyris,

Thanks for sharing your photos with us!

I did not realize it was colored red. Is your natural hair color the rich brunette in your signature pic?

I wonder how much longer my hair is compared to what you consider "uber-long." Somehow I have a feeling what you consider to be "uber-long" is much shorter than where I am at. And you are surely a long way from "hippie" length. Rarely, people accuse me (in a joking way) of being a hippie. I respond with a puzzled look, tilt of the head, and the question, "what's a hippie?" hee hee.

I have red highlights?!?!? Haha, I took the photo in the company's bathroom under less-than-ideal lighting conditions with a poor digital camera. My hair is actually the color in my avatar. But thank you for the compliments anyway! Uber-long to me, Dave, is most assuredly shorter than your definition, no doubt! I am only aiming for BSL or slightly shorter. I expect to be there next spring at the standard 1/2 inch per month growth rate. Crazy Girl....your hair is indeed beautiful, as are you!

Hi Geengerleespice!

Don't be fooled by the picture... I have lots of split ends I used to take Ultra Nourishair by GNC but I stopped. It was getting too expensive for me plus it felt like it stopped working. The first few months, I noticed less shedding then I stopped and started back on again after a couple of months, that's when I realized it didn't have the same effect anymore. Maybe it was just me.

Well, I dye my hair a lot and that is my main problem, dries up my hair and now, I got split ends. Most of the time at work, I go through my hair and cut the bad ends.

Thanks to Lyris, I am now addicted to All Soft shampoo and conditioner and their heavy cream!

So Crazy girl you don't take any vitamins at all now?? Do you blow dry your hair?? Your hair looks really long! Where do you get your All Soft supplies?? Have you ever heard of MSM?? How often do you get your hair cut?? Sorry for all of the questions!!! But I like love your hair!

NO, I am not taking anything right now as I am very lazy. I stopped taking my multi vitamins too since I always forget.

Unfortunately, I blow dry my hair almost every morning - If I don't, it will take half a day letting it completely dry and it's cold and my clothes get too wet plus it frizzies up like a troll!

I get my shampoo and conditioner at Trade Secret when they go on sale or there's a small beauty supply store near my house that sells it cheaper than other places. I also love going to Sally's Beauty Salon.

I have heard of MSM but not really familiar with it, My last trim was about July I think.

Ask all the questions you need, that's how I started and that is how I met everyone here - they were all very helpful!!!

How long is your hair???

My hair is down to my bra strap and will not grow anymore after that!! SERIOUSLY! I had my hair japanese straightened with Liscio in September and I love it! I can let my hair air dry and it looks fine! My hair type is naturally wavy frizzy and had TONS of body and volume but I hated it, it was a disaster! I could send pics of the japanese straightening but I don't know how to get them on here! Not very computer savvy! I really do appreciate all of your help! I have to pretty much use my japanese shampoos and conditioners for now by CREDE, so I don't really have a choice to experiment with other products! But I have been trying vitamins! I want my hair LONG LONG LONG! !!!!

hey gingerlee! I think you're one of the rare people satisfied with the process, but I'm happy it worked for you. I'd do it too if I could afford it and also would be guaranteed it wouldn't ruin my hair. if you want, you can send the pics to artlapin@hotmail.com
I'd love to see in case I do ever decide to try it!

I am glad you are happy ginger! I did the Yuko system about 2 years ago and I loved it also. My mom liked it so much that I had to take her too! I don't think I will ever do it again though. It was kind of a pain watching the new growth wavy and the rest straight. Hehehe. My hair is naturally wavy and thick and my mom has thick coarse hair.

Send me a pic also, jhaided@hotmail.com =)

hey Jenna and Crazygirl your pics are on the way! Did you hear alot of people that did not like their results (Jenna)? I think it's all in the person that you go to! They should have alot of experience in the straightening process. Also I have heard NOTHING good about the CHI system. I think that Liscio is the way to go! And also if people have highlights and than get their straightened I don't think this is good! The person that straightened my hair is wonderful!! In fact I now drive 2 1/2 hours each way just to get my hair trimmed and deep condtioned by her! She is very knowledgeable about the hair and is honest! I know she has turned people away that wanted to get their hair straightened but they just weren't good candidates. Hope you were able to receive the pix ok! If you have any questions just let me know! Thanks!
