hello all, just signed up, have some questions but most pressing is this:

I'm getting married in Mid october, and had my stylist over for a test run of a 'do for my wedding. Back up:

Theme is vintage. Dress is "grandma's curtains lace", with cap sleeves, keyhole back. Train is not very long. Dress form-fitting. Style of venue is a 1873 Victorian Mansion, decorated accordingly.

my dress and the style I'm going for could be 1940's or earlier.

My stylist tried finger rolls on me, and even wet, (we did not attempt hood drying yet), it didn't work. I duno, I'm worried I won't be happy with it.

I NEED IDEAS FOR VINTAGE WEDDING 'DO:

My hair is black, length is to the top of my butt, all one length there, but also bettie page fringe (how do I post a pic?)

My hair won't hold a curl for the end of the world, and the weight makes it impossible to get finger waves working. I have good faith in my stylist, but if I'm not certain it'll work, I need a different style for my wedding.

Can anyone link pictures or threads or anything to give us ideas to achieve the style we want (vintage, 1940's or earlier) with long stick-straight hair, black, micro bangs?

I will upload a pic once I learn how xD
