 can't hold even tension between fingers

Hello.  Does anyone else have huge knuckles that creates a big gap that doesn't allow you to hold even tension on the hair as you are cutting?  What do you do to fix the problem?  I've tried squeezing my fingers together harder but the gap is still there.  Thanks for any ideas.

You could try using a comb, one of those thin ones that have very little space between the spokes/teeth, that way it can grip the hair tightly as you comb down and you can trim the ends.
