From humble beginnings in 1837 as a family-operated soap and candle company, Procter & Gamble Co. has grown to become the world's largest consumer-products company.
Still based in Cincinnati, Ohio, P&G now has 135,000 employees manufacturing products ranging from personal care and household cleaning products to laundry detergents and disposable diapers in more than 80 countries. Its global sales, in 180 countries, totaled more than $79 billion in the latest fiscal year.
Since it entered the Philippines in 1935, P&G has expanded its presence to 36 markets in Asia and Australasia, with production facilities in the Philippines, Australia, China, Hong Kong, India, Indonesia, Japan, South Korea, Malaysia, New Zealand, Singapore, Taiwan, Thailand and Vietnam.
