Hair Oil Myths & Facts For Naturally Curly Hair

Even though hair oiling has been an integral part of hair care routines for generations, there are many myths and misconceptions regarding the use of hair oil.  Especially for curly hair, IMHO, because curly hair cover such a range of textures and types.

Myth: Using hair oil will make the scalp and the curls greasy.

Fact:  While this may be the case for some people, in general, applying oil to the scalp or the hair does not leave it oily.  Generally speaking oils are absorbed quickly into the hair and scalp leaving no greasy residue which can actually occur with some types of hair products.

Of course some oils are heavier than others but some hair oils, like those based in jojoba oil, have the ability to mimic the body
