Concerned that I might lose my hair.

I just got microbraids yesterday. I got them for the summer, to give my hair a rest. However, I've been reading online how a lot of people think they are the devil, and say that they will ruin your hair.

I'm scared. =/ My braids aren't too tight. I can smile, laugh, move my eyebrows, etc. They were only slightly uncomfortable/stiff when I tried to sleep on them last night.

My microbraid style is like this: Since my real hair is should length, all of my real hair is braided, and then they added the extensions, that go a little past my breast. I'm 3c texture, if that helps.

I'm really worried  I only plan to keep them in for 5 weeks, though.

I think you should be fine as long as you keep your hair moisturized and continue to take care of it.
