Hi all,

I had Billy take the photos from the top of my head and the sides so you can see the pattern clearly.

I am really enjoying them a lot.  Today in the restroom I ran into two African American women who had cornrows.  They started laughing when they saw me and then stopped and looked at my braids.  They said they were "tight" and asked where I had them done.  They were very nice.  One of the women suggested a few products to try to get them to shine more.  Both were Bronner Brothers products which is what we used in the school.

I am going to leave these in for awhile.  My new "guy" actually likes them but he also said he really likes my hair "long and flowing".  However, I am not one to let a guy tell me how to wear my hair.  I never let my husband (who died 3 years ago) tell me how to wear my hair so I am not going to start now.    I am going to keep the braids as long as I feel comfortable.

Without further ado or chit chat....

I have more photos to post but I need to make sure they are not the same.  I also have photos of the braid work I did.

More later.

Very cute. I like it. I can't see the first pick though. You should get more braids the next time, maybe six or eight so they can be smaller. I'll look for some pics with eight or more going off to the side. I'll check HB's gallery first.

You can also style these. Try putting them in a bun in the back, chignon style. I think you'll look cute in it.

Dang....all 3 photos were showing up earlier.  Grrrrr.  I will fix it tomorrow when I get back to the office.  I also was not able to post the photos of the various braids I worked on but will make sure to post.

Thanks for the photos of braids.

I actually have 6 braids across my head from ear to ear.  They are definitely bigger than some patterns.  I think I would have needed major drugs to have more braids put in because these hurt....bad.

Thanks again for the photos.  I will post more tomorrow.

As far as the next braider being more gentle...well maybe....everyone I talked to at the school said that braids are supposed to hurt.  So I am not sure they won't all hurt me when they braid.

Yes..I will try twist rows.  I am thinking I want micro braids unless they are going to hurt worse than the cornrows?

By the way...they told us to grow long pinkie nails to help pick up the hair.  Had you ever heard that before?  It is wild.  But it really seems to work.
