my hair seriously began shedding to the point where parts were long and parts were short about a year ago then I went to braids and home crochet hair dos (my cousin did it Confused).  Now, I have recently come out of the braids and crochets.  I am currently 7 months pregnant and since taking out the crochets really want to focus on thickening my hair and have a healthier look.  I have not applied a perm but have gone to a beautician who washed, blowdryed and hot comb straightened my hair.  She really didnt provide any ways that I can have my hair straight and work on it becoming healthy again.

My hair is currently past shoulder lenghth however thin and starting to shed since visit to beautician.

Can anyone help with the a reputable beautician or salon in Chicago area that not only has reputation for styles but also health care?

Also, any tips on what I can do to my hair at home to start the thickening process??

Much thanks!!

Hey I live in Chicago too! I am also looking for a knowledgeable and reputable beautician/salon. I want one that will help me with my soon to be all natural hairWink. I live on the far northwest side near Evanston so no one over here knows anything about "our" hair. Anyway I dont know of any salons in the area YOYO but I hope you find one and I hope your hair problem gets solved ASAP!

Hey YOYO sorry to hear you are having probelems with your hair...I too am trying to thicken up my hair and what been helping me is Apoghee for damaged hair (the old formula) and organic castor oil added to my deep conditioners and hot oil treatments. I also rub castor oil into the thining areas of my edges. HTH :-)
