okay so i am a cocasian girl with shoulder length hair but i need a lot of help. my hair is extremely puffy, wirey, and frizzy and i have a lot of undefined curls but i have to wear it in a braid all the time, i literally never wear it any way else. i have a flat iron that i use on my bangs but i have to go over my bangs about 6 times before they are straight. i think i want to chemically straighten my hair because i have to go to camp for a month and i cannot use my straightener there. im worried though because when i straighten my whole head it still has kinks and its still really really puffy. if i chemically straighten it, will it still be really puffy like that? is there a way i can get it to lie flat? my hair looks like a traffic sign because it starts and the top and goes out like a triangle. i really need serious help, because honestly im going to shave my head if i cant figure out what to do with it. please help.. thank you. x 3mily x0x2006-07-10 11:12:58

What kind of straightener do you use? If you get a good ceramic straightener it should work. There are also products that you can put in your hair that make it straight. I don't think I would reccomen chemically striaghtening it even though I have never had it done. The chemicals could really harm your hair.

There is chemical abuse and there is mechanical abuse! The fact is, flat ironing the hair (mechanically) over and over can cause far more damage to the hair than chemically straightening the hair.

According to your description, I think Japanese Hair Straightening, also known as Thermal Reconditioning/TR - will be of great help to your hair issues. Japanese hair Straightening is permanent and it will transform your wiry, puffy hair into soft, straight and frizz free hair. You can learn much more by going to my Website and then visit my TR Forum too -
