Good list!

Another is wheat germ - a good source of folic acid.  Just add a couple of tablespoons of it to cereal or yogurt each day.

Hi passion, I don't know that shampoo can make hair grow any faster.  Vitamins help your body to use the food you eat, so they can definitely help your hair.

Oh, I wanted to add eggs to my list. Eggs are good - lots of protein.

Just out of curiosity, what's the big deal about yoghurt? (spelled wrong). I mean, it's basically milk and a ton of refined sugar- doesn't seem too good for your hair, skin etc. Yogurt has about 20 grams of sugar in it, which is probably half of what you should get in a day max.

For protein, soy protein is pretty good but don't overdo it. one serving of protein powder is 25 grams, and if you put it in oatmeal its really good.

oh and eat pineapples and bananas. they taste really good also.

Yougurt is good because it contains protein. Sugar free yougurt is the way to go, regardless.

And Milk! Great source of protein and yummy too.

Sometimes it is hard to get all of thew foods that are good for your hair and when that happens you can take some supplements to replace those foods and keep your hair healthy.

This company sells all natural vitamins and oils proven to keep your hair healthy, and i have ordered from here many times and i also work here.

I was vegeterian for 2 years, but when I went back to eating white meat and oily fish such as makarel (I don't eat red meat which is conveniant as it's meant to be bad for your hair) my sister said she thought my hair had become thicker. I guess because of the protein. So white meats like chicken and things like oily fish is good food for your hair =)

Also like other people have mentioned, seeds (sunflower especially) and nuts are good foods for your hair (and health in general!)

In my opinion, there is no specific food that has benefiets for the hair. You must have a specific diet which to boost all vitamins and minerals levels in the body. Through these kind of diets the hair will start to grow healthy. Raw eating is the best diet, but its hard to keep and it must be made by a specialist.

Thanks for all the great posts and opinions shared.  After years of experimenting I can tell you that my experience shows that very specific foods do have a direct impact on my hair - both positive and negative.
