 shrinkage?

hey,

i'm seriously considering dreads. the problem is i just chopped my hair off
about 4 months ago and now it's chin length at best. plus my hair is
infamous for it's thickness but it's pretty straight. i was just wondering how
much does hair shrink in the process of dreading? i'm trying to gauge how
long i should wait because i'm afraid if i do it now i'll have dreadspikes and i
don't want that... because i'm a girl and i don't like dreadspikes.

Im actually wondering the same thing haha my hair is like 7.5 to 8 inches and Im so tired of waiting

Is my hair long enough?

after my dreads  where put in I lost about 2 inches of hair length
