Im not asian, but I would first suggest that your hair be dry and free of oils (moisture).

A-A's (African Americans) tend to have dry, curly hair which is why they can easily attempt this style.

Second I'd suggest that you put your hair into several plaits and roll them. Or you could have your hair cornrowed.

Next, take the braids out, pick, then shape!

i have indian type hair - really different, wavy but thick but fine at the same time lol

anyhow would love to od this one fro the summer.

i do agree with merisit. for a temporary afro curling it up with pleats, curlers or even roll pieces of hair wih pieces of paper towel, sleeping in the over night.

in the morning when you wake up, don't wet or wash your hair. take the roller or whatver you curl it with out, then bend over  and let the new formed curls out, they mist with hairspray.

it wont be a rounse or as curly as real african afro but still it works

you can also just get a perm to get an afro.
