I have to tell you ladies, this synth hair is stunning. I have no idea how it will hold up over time. I have no idea if it'll last one week or 3 months. My feeling about hair is that the majority of it looks good right out of the package but it quickly can change into something horrific after the very first wash.

With that said. Let me say that I did not believe this hair could be so straight and curl so well. The photo below is done with a regular high heat curling iron. The hair just needs a spritz of water or wet your hand and run it down the strand before curling. It just springs, ladies! The curl is as much as you want it to be - tight or loose. The ends are not kinky or ratted up in any way.

I washed the part that I curled with shampoo and conditioner and the curl is still there. It is like totally set and looks exactly the same. I can run my fingers through the strand all the way through to the bottom and it does not catch at all. There is no roughness or kink.

Excuse me while I pick myself up off the floor. This is some of the most awesome synth hair I've seen.

Definately let us know how it holds up after a few washes.

Rae - I believe it is. The hair tag has a big bold NEW! ADVANCED FIBER! on it.

I am so not kidding. I am going to have to store this separately from my human hair because I cannot tell the difference. Well, actually I can - it's better looking!

I do not know the brand name. Why is it sellers are so protective of this? I guess they don't want us tracking down the source. Regardless - I have. It comes from China from UNIKO TRADING INC. I am trying to locate the company and send an email off to them. This is my lead so far -- http://www.alibaba.com/company/10088243.html

The hair I got was 22" auburn color, 2 bulk units for a total of 4 oz. It has an amazing, fine thread woven in the top that helps secure the hair.

This is by no means a weft, it just helps the hair stay put while you pull it off to make strands. Has anyone seen this before??? You still have to take care getting the hair out but it eliminates the need for a mat or board.

Are you ready for the price? Under $10 for 4 oz. You may now all pick your jaws up off the floor.

Oh, that's georgeous! Did you pick it up at a beauty-supply store or order it online?

How does it compare to PlastikHaar in look and feel?

I've heard the Thermofibre is thinner than monofiber. Does it seem thinner than PH?

Do you know how many available lengths and colors they offer?

:)

THAT'S THAT WA-WA BRAND!!! I bought some of that from a woman on eBay but all she had were very dark colors! If it's the same kind, it IS awesome. The #4 looks totally natural! Cool that you found it in that pretty auburn!

WA-WA? I think that's it! The WA is capitalized on both words so you're right! It's WA-WA! I thought it was just describing the hair. Duh. I'm blonde.

Here's the tag -

And here's where it is on eBay - the gal who runs it is named Carol. She's great and she's keeping her eyes open for longer blonde shades. She said she'll carry it the moment it's in - http://stores.ebay.com/Vixenwigs_W0QQssPageNameZl2QQtZkm

I'm test driving about a half dozen strands and I'll be able to tell more then. So far I think it's pretty exceptional.

** Edit: Bingo! And here it is in lighter colors: http://store.goldenmartbeautysupply.com/wawalikehuman.html

the freetress comes in blonde. But only 613 and its REALLY light! Heres the thread on the freetress that I also curled and washed. The picture link is there too with about 4 pictures http://talk.hairboutique.com/forum/viewthread.asp?forum=AMB%5FAP934431446&id=3851&sr1=freetress&sr2=&ExMth=no#post3988

That's it!! That's her!! Carol at Vixenwigs!! She is really great and nice! I emailed her about lighter colors and she did say she was going to get them - so she did! That is so awesome! And the price is totally right.
The hair I bought said it was Yaki Straight, but it is the smoothest yaki I've ever seen. Oh, I'm SOO glad to know she's expanded her color selection - that's great news.
Did you find it on eBay, amm? I was looking the other night and didn't it.
Never mind - I see you did find it on eBay. Mine is the exact same thing, same tag and everything. This very exciting news.
Cuz you know, Plastikhaar may be the bomb, but we must have domestic supply backup just in case some global mayhem cuts us off from trade with Switzerland!

Yes, I got it off eBay and it was under $10 for 4 oz. It actually weighed a little over. The length is 22" with the longer pieces going at 23-24". It's what I would call a full 22".

Well, she's got the auburn which is a really nice color. It's a true light auburn with no orange tones at all. I don't think she has anything lighter than this and I definitely can't wear an entire head this dark. I need some light blonde. This color right now is perfect for lowlights. I have about a half dozen in and they blend perfect with human hair. I feel totally safe with them in because I can catch them in the curling iron and they'll be fine. If I can't find a longer length in my color, I will keep the human hair in and supplement with synth. Anyone ever try that before? I may be the first. Weee!

I have the Yaki straight which is so not what I expected. The texture is not like a synth at all. It's better than some of the human hair I have right now.

I hate to be excited this early but if I've found a realistic hair at $10 for 4 oz and it blends and curls like this for the long haul, I'm going to pee myself.

amm I have the freetress in 613 if you want to try it out. Its too light for me, I could use it for highlights but not a whole head and it dont do me any good if I cant find more blonde shades to go with it! I can send you some of this to test drive.

Right on. I'll take it.

Do that board mail thing and we'll exchange addresses. I've only replied to it so I'm not sure how to send. I have lots and lots and LOTS of different types of hair I can send as an exchange for you to try, too. Let me know your color. If it's blonde/brown or auburn, I probably have it.

In my many searches for synthethic hair I knew I had seen that WaWa brand before. Here is one I had in my list:

http://gallery.bcentral.com/GID5108306P3618030-Braiding-Synthetic-Hair/Yaky-Bulk-20-22-in-WaWa-Braiding-Synthetic-Hair-Extensions.aspx

And here is another:

http://www.hairsisters.com/catalog/index.php?manufacturers_id=25&osCsid=cad60de9388db6e9502caff3489e0738

Glad to hear its getting such great reviews.

Excellent. Thanks so much, Emma. I have bookmarked this link: http://www.hairsisters.com/catalog/product_info.php?products_id=171&osCsid=cad60de9388db6e9502caff3489e0738

They have the blonde and medium brown colors at that site. It says 20" but I think this is the same 22" I have. If it is a couple inches shorter than what I wear, it's still good for layering on top and the underlayer can be my usual 24" or so.

Jenny - how does it compare to PH? Well, this curls obviously so it's going to really appeal to those who like to change the look of their hair. The curl has stayed put after two trial washings. I think you can use a straightening iron on it too but that's a very high heat. Haven't tested that yet. It's not as long as PH which will be a problem for some who like the super length over 24". But the feel of this hair is not like PH at all. The PH's ends felt a little rough after washing. This WA WA hair is soft as silk all the way through to the ends. It feels like Silky Straight Remy Cuticle. Even after 2 washings, the hair is unbelievably smooth and there's no flyaway with it.

As they say, extension hair is only as good as its last washing so we'll see how it performs over time. And at $10 for a 4oz bag, I'm pretty stoked.
