Hi,Hang in there. I know how frustrating it can be when your hair just doesn't do what its supposed to do. For years my hair would not grow below my bra strap. I discovered that there were many reasons for this. Not only was I using Nice N Easy every single month on my entire head (UGH) I was also blow drying it every day, using curling irons, chugging Diet Coke and eating really badly.I went to see a long hair expert in Dallas and he made me get my hair cut to right at my collarbone from lower bra length. I was devastated and cried all the way home. But the guy promised me that he would help me grow my hair longer if I did everything he suggested.I did and well...here I am with 2 inches below my waist. The interesting thing is that I was diagnosed with thyroid problems about 10 months ago and my hair just stopped growing or at least stalled pretty drastically. It also went from really soft and silky to dry as a bone. I was very concerned as you can imagine but the story does have a happy ending.I again went back to the drawing board and discovered that I needed medications...went to see the best endocrinologist I could find and started doing lots of deep conditioning treatments to help my hair recover from the dryness of the condition.I also started increasing my daily essential fatty acids to a healthy amount and started taking my friend Mike Trobee's H37 vitamins. Mike told me that he had worked with some women with slow hair growth because of thyroid problems and viola. It did make a difference. My hair got silkier, thicker and the dryness receded. Also I started getting roots again which meant new hair was growing in.Which is another point to consider. Sometimes hormones play a part in hair growth or lack of it. Even birth control pills MAY have an impact. Not all people or even all birth control pills wills cause a slowdown on hair growth...but sometimes it will.It sounds to me like you are really dedicated to growing your hair. That is the first big step to making it happen. Patience is the next step.I am so glad you shared your frustrations here with us because that also helps. If I can help answer any questions..please feel free to email me or please post more here on Hair Talk.Best wishes,Karen> About 7 months ago I got my long hair cut to my> shoulders.
