Hi,
First let me thank you all for your patience during HairTalk's scheduled down time to move our networks last week. Things went very well and we have stepped up our level of security, reliability and performance for the HB site, the Marketplace and our communities (HairTalk & Hairlog).
We also upgraded our Marketplace on Saturday August 30th at 1:30 am, as planned and scheduled.
Several people spent all weekend testing and tweaking the new Marketplace to make sure there were no obvious user or operational problems.
Overall, the new HB.com Marketplace store seems to be working well. It has a lot of powerful new features and options that we are excited about. As some of you may know, the HB.com team has been working on upgrading to the new Marketplace for several months. It has been a lot of hard work and dedication that has been given by the entire team.
I want to thank everyone on the HB.com project(Michael K, Michael T, Jeff, Doug, Tom, Jim, Jean & Brigid) for all their dedication to making the Marketplace & site upgrades as smooth and as non-disruptive as possible.
I also want to make a special point of thanking Dave Decker for all his testing done as a user/customer to try and flush out any potential bugs and problems that we might not have seen from our views. In addition, I want to thank some of our other consumer testers that helped find ways to making our new store & our site better.
We are taking this new store turnup process slowly so as not to overwhelm anyone. Therefore a lot of new options like gift wrapping, gift cards, gift registries, private newsletter lists, etc., will be implemented over the next few weeks as we get the first phase of the store completely tweaked and perfected.
Eventually a FAQ will be posted with the scoop on everything that is new and exciting. Until then, it should be business as usual.
