How would I request a brush up style?

Alright, so Im getting my hair cut soon and i've just just recently got into hairstyles and such. My hair has always been really short, or just really long and wavy [like old school justin beiber].

My hair dresser is a woman and she is very good , I just dont know how to request it.

If i do get it, what products should i buy?

I have a sister who already has a brush, a comb, a blow dryer and a flat iron.
I myself only have hair gel.
I want my hair to be exactly like Rhett from Rhett and link, or Zayn Malik.
Finally, how should i ask for it, and what should i buy?
