Blonde beauty Taylor Swift sang her popular hit "We Are Never Ever Getting Back Together" at the recent NRJ Music Awards in France on Saturday night. 

Her most recent ex BF, One Direction's Harry Styles, was in the audience as she sang her controversial song which supposedly was written about her ex-Kennedy boyfriend but could conceivably refer to Harry as well.

Celebrity watchers believes it would be potentially awkward when the two popular exes both appeared at the awards ceremony which is highly publicized and attended by International Media.

It was reportedly the first time the two would be at the same event since their public split.  Celebrity watchers reported that the two both seemed a little tense at the event although Harry and his band won an award and Taylor looked spectacular.

The country star gave a dazzling performance of the song, changing out of her Red Carpet arrival outfit to take to the stage in a black lace number with sexy knee high boots.

Was Taylor trying to show Harry was he was missing?  Taylor gave it her all, strutting around on stage in her sexy outfit, knowing Harry, was watching her from his seat.  Swift lead the glamour set at the annual ceremony, ensuring if she did run into former lover Styles that she would at least look her best for the occasion.

Harry got his licks in when he took his turn on stage, singing with his band mates before becoming victorious and walking away with the Best International Group gong.

Harry did seem quieter and more solemn than usual when he first showed up on the red carpet after Taylor, while his One Direction bandmates fooled around for the cameras and who looked joyous as thy faced the cameras and fans.

Louis Tomlinson and Zayn Malik amped up their clowning around on the carpet.  The One Direction boys wore matching ensembles in co-ordinating black and brown.

Taylor sparkled on the red carpet, showing off her enviably slender legs in a plunging golden gown which flattered her slim physique, while she finished off her look with complimentary gold heels.

She completed her style with her hair worn down and straight, with plenty of lip gloss perfecting her pout.

Taylor didn't win an award like Harry and his One Direction bandmates, but still got to take her turn on stage.

Although he put in a stellar performance, knowing his ex would be there to see him in all his glory.  But he was made victorious as the boys picked up one of the biggest awards of the night.

Reunion time? Harry and Taylor arrived separately to the event, but were rumoured to be using the event to rekindle their romance.

Fashion winner: It may have been Harry who walked away with the best international band trophy, but Taylor wasn't upstaged on the red carpet.

Tweeting after taking to the stage, Styles wrote: 'Thank you so much to @NRJhitmusiconly and our fans for the award!! See you later .xx.'

Leading up to the event there has been much speculation that Styles and Swift are planning a big reunion after reportedly holding crisis talks to salvage their relationship in London.

And while Taylor has been spotted living it up in Cannes in the lead up to the bash, Styles was seen arriving in the region with his bandmates on Saturday morning looking somewhat glum.
