Need help on how to get waves!!!??

Im mexican my hair is kinda thick it gets curly an wavy when its about 6 inches long but when its short its straight i know i hear people say you can get waves with straight hair an some say you cant but what im thinking is what if i get a curly perm? And have like a mini jew fro lol an ill brush it down an where a doorag wont that give me waves? And also if i can do that could i add any products to the hair after the perm or is that to much chemicals in my hair? I know this might be a dumb question but try an help me i dont wanna cut my hair all they down an wolf for 6 -9 weeks and do everything needed and stil end up with no waves, or do yall think i can get waves with doing it the traditional way because my hair does eventually get real curly when its long????Lrgtwiddy2013-01-11 18:17:52
