Can I wear hair extensions?

So, a few months back I got a shaved undercut that goes all the way around my head. I also got my hair on top cut, and it now goes down to my jaw, so I'd say it's about 5-6 inches long. I intend to keep the undercut shaved, however I want the hair on top to grow out. Would I be able to wear extensions, that would look realistic? If so, which do you recommend clip in or glue in?
