The beauty industry expects its professionals to look well-groomed and put together because you will be working on clients and they want their beauty professionals to demonstrate they understand the basic beauty principles.
It seems obvious but it's surprising how many people who go for interviews in the beauty work don't go with their best beauty selves.
What to do?
If you don't have time to really glam yourself up, consider the follow best beauty grooming practices:
1. Start your beauty routines the night before. If possible lay out your interview outfit making sure it's neat, clean and pressed. Ditto with your shoes and handbag or any accessories you plan to wear. Have everything ready to jump into so you don't waste time ironing or washing anything.
2. Wash, dry and curl your hair, paint your nail, neaten up your fringe with a few snips and go to bed for a full 8 hours so you look like you've had beauty sleep.
If your hair needs touching up in the morning it's much easier for a quick hot ironing than having to wash, dry and style.
3. Before taking your morning pre-interview shower be sure to wrap your hair in a thick towel turban to prevent steam damage.
4. Add a natural all-over body glow by finishing your shower with a quick burst of cool or cold water.
5. Be sure to iron or touch up your hair after your shower and the steam has cleared in the bathroom.
6. Brush your teeth with a bit of baking soda for the brightest whites. Accent with a red lipstick with a blue undertone to give you a megawatt smile.
7. Always keep a cucumber in the fridge. If you have puffy eyes pop a slice on each eye for a quick depuffing. Splash cool water on your face after removing the cucumber slices. You can also store a bit of your facial cream or body moisturizer in the fridge to help instantly eliminate swelling or inflammation.
8. Keep carbonated water in a spray bottle. If your hair frizzes spritz a little bit of carbonated water onto the palms of your hair and lightly finger pick through your strands to instantly smooth.
9. Spritz a tiny bit of hairspray onto a old but clean tooth brush and then brush over eyebrows or the area along your hair part. This will tame wild hair instantly.
10. Before leaving the house take a quick sniff of peppermint oil for a great burst of energy without coffee breath. Administrator2012-10-23 13:06:47
