These are the some steps for making curly hair ...

Step 1: Start off by blow drying washed hair. While blow drying your hair, use a paddle brush to give direction to the nozzle. "The paddle brush smoothens hair out and keeps it from getting frizzy. Make sure hair is completely dry before you begin styling.

Step 2: Moving from ear to ear section hair out into two parts- the front half and the back half. Pin the front half and back comb the other half in sections using a rat tail comb.

Use a holding spray to retain the volume brought on by back combing. Backcombing helps keep the hair in place. Without it, the freshly washed and conditioned hair tends to get too slippery to work with.

Step 3: Pull all the back combed hair onto one side and secure them with hair pins placed vertically.

Step 4: Moving towards the middle of the head, roll the hair starting from the ends to the roots. Using U-pins secure the bun into place. Tuck in any extra bits with hair pins.

Step 5: Section the front half of the hair into three parts- two on either sides and one at the crown. Neatly comb the sections on either sides and pin them under the bun.

Step 6: Gently make a pouf with the hair at the crown of your head and pin it into place. The pouf adds volume and brings an fun dimension to otherwise very serious up-do. Add a floral hair accessory or a jeweled one depending on the occasion.
