Where is all of the short hair?

Around here(Northern New York State) there has been a major shortage of short haircuts. By short hair I mean pixies and shorter, and you can go days without seeing a woman with short hair. I have noticed for the last several years, you can forget about college age women wearing it short, but the thirty-fifty crowd had kept the faith by wearing it short, at least to some extent. Summer is here and it looks like fans of short hair may have to sit this one out. I would love to hear reports from other places to see if this is just a local trend.
