wearing wigs

Can wearing a wig everyday cause your own hair to fall out or become thinner? Is it bad for your scalp?

I cant speak from personal experience Ive never worn wigs continuously, however I've read on various hair forums that some people experience balding and breakage from the constant use of wig clips or tight wig bands or wigs rubbing against their natural hair ect eventuating in damage, breakage and balding in the areas that are being stressed

Thanks, I have decided on the extensions/clip instead of wigs. So far I am having good luck with them
